Sean King R.I.P and Sean Dixon R.I.P.

November 7, 2018

The recent news of the deaths of Sean King Kildeema, Moyasta and Sean Dixon Blanchardstown Dublin were received with great sadness among the membership and were a great blow to the Club.
Sean King and his wife Margaret held life membership in the club when this membership was offered in the early 80’s, in order to raise much needed finance when a large debt was incurred in the development of playing facilities for the youth of the Parish.
Sean’s children and grandchildren continue to be stalwarts in the club and have contributed handsomely to successful teams over the years. May he rest in peace.

Sean Dixon, was born and reared on the Railway Rd. He was married to Marie O’Neill from the Marine Parade, whose family to this date were and are involved in playing matters in Limerick and Clare. Her brother Michael was instrumental in resurrecting the hurling club in the Peninsula.
Sean Dixon renewed his membership, and also purchased a 12 month lotto ticket on an annual basis. Sean worked in the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine Dublin and was a great friend to all the students from the West Clare area who studied there.
For those who did not know Sean personally a photo of Sean is included in the Kilkee Moments Book, which was published in 2012. He is snapped in the front of O’Mara’s Pub on O’Curry St. with Tom Lillis, and the Late Michael O’Mara and on a very sunny August Monday some years ago.
May he and Michael rest in peace.
