Edenderry seniors got back to winning ways with a two point over Ferbane on Saturday evening. The reds had been beaten in their previous three games but a great second half comeback helped them to a brace of points.
Edenderry started well and straight from the throw in, Derek Kelly drove a long ball in to Stuart Cullen who laid it off to Dan Nolan who pointed his first of the game. In the fourth minute Ferbane scored a goal and Edenderry were under pressure. Five minutes later Derek Kelly scored the reds second point after some good play from Sean Pender and Ciaran Hurley. Just a minute later Keith McGuinness leveled the game, once again after some great work from Ciaran Hurley.
Ferbane added two points in the seventeenth minute to take a two point lead but a Mark Young free for a foul on Keith McGuinness left just one between the sides. With six minutes of the half remaining Ferbane scored 1-1 to put them five points ahead at the interval.

Edenderry needed a a big performance in the second half to get back into the game and they got just that. In the opening five minutes points from Mark Young, Philip Farrell and the impressive Ciaran Hurley left just two between the teams. Ferbane pointed in the sixth minute to restore their three point lead but in the fifteenth minute substitute David Farrelly rose highest a fisted the ball in to the back of the net to level the game. The reds really kicked on from here with a point from Mark Young and in the nineteenth minute Ciaran Hurley grabbed a goal with the assist coming from Derek Kelly and David Farrelly.
Three minutes later it was David Farrelly who once again who rattled the Ferbane net when he was played through by Stuart Cullen and Ciaran Hurley. With eight minutes left on the clock Edenderry took their foot off the pedal and almost paid the price when Ferbane hit 1-3 without reply. In the twenty ninth minute Dan Nolan added his second of the game and sealed the two points for Edenderry.
Edenderry management will be very happy to pick up two valuable points from this game and the performances of veterans Adrian Murphy and Johnny Hurst should be most pleasing. However, Ciaran Hurley was also outstanding on the day and he was a constant threat when he carried the ball.
