SFL Div 2: Clonmore 1-16 Asca 0-8.

November 8, 2018

Clonmore opened brightly and points by John McGrath (2), Gavin Byrne (3), Jamie Walsh and a well struck ’45’ from Con Murphy put them 0-7 to 0-2 up at half-time. When Asca were reduced to 14 men after 25 minutes, the game was effectively over as a contest. Without ever reaching the heights of the previous week against Eire Og, Clonmore controlled the game in the second half, a feature of which was two points from centre-back Shane Murphy and a late goal from Niall Humphries after he was set up by the lively Kevin McCarney.

Team: Collie McGrath, Paul Hogan, Ronan Doyle, John Kelly, Willie Byrne, Shane Murphy (0-2, 1f), Michael Murray, Con Murphy (0-2, 1 ’45’), Enda McGrath, Gavin Byrne (0-6,4f)), Niall Humphries (1-1), Jamie Walsh (0-1), Owen Coleman (0-1), John McGrath (0-2), Kevin McCarney. Subs: Darren McGrath (0-1), Mick Smith, Mark D Byrne, David McCarney, Mark A Byrne.

Next Div 2 game is away to the Fighting Cocks on Saturday evening, 14 April.
