Story of the game:

10 mins: Clonmore 0-3 St Andrews 0-0, points from David McCarney, Con and Niall. Clonmore lose David Mulvany, injured - replaced by Pauric Lawlor.

20 mins: Clonmore 0-3 St Andrews 0-3, the equaliser waved wide but Ref gave it.

Half-time: Clonmore 0-3 St Andrews 1-7, the Saints dominate second quarter and kick 1-7 unanswered. John Doyle dominant at midfield.

31 mins: Clonmore 1-3 St Andrews 1-7, we get the start we needed with a great shot by Niall Humphries into the top corner of Pa Cody's net - game on.

40  mins: Clonmore 1-3 St Andrews 3-7, after raising our game and getting right back into it, Andrews score a couple of fortuitious goals to knock us back.

50 mins: Clonmore 2-7 St Andrews 3-7, undeterred the lads show great spirit and appetite to reduce the margin to a goal after Alan Humphries raises a green flag.

54 mins: Clonmore 2-9 St Andrews 3-7, its down to one point now after points by Pauric, Niall and Gavin. A couple of Gavin's points tonight were from really acute angles.

60 mins: Clonmore 2-10 St Andrews 3-9, after launching wave after wave of attacks on the Bagenalstown goal, Niall Humphries finally got through one to one with the keeper but Pa Cody made a great save to prevent us taking the lead.  Always dangerous on the break, Andrews score a couple of late points to put them 3 ahead. Kevin McCarney scored an excellent point near the end but we run out of time.

PHOTO: Niall Humphries was a constant threat up front against St Andrews scoring 1-2 and being denied a winning goal by a great save from the keeper in the closing minutes.
