SFL Div 2: Grange 2-8 Clonmore 1-9

November 8, 2018

The Intermediates finished their league campaign with a disappointing result against Grange but their skillful and spirited display deserved better and provides hope for the Championship.

With just five minutes gone Grange had a seven point lead: 2-1 to 0-0. On 55 minutes, a great goal by Gavin Byrne left just one point between the teams – 2-6 to 1-8. In the intervening 50 minutes, a courageous performance saw Clonmore outplay and outscore Grange by 1-8 to 0-5 but an equalising point didn’t come and Clonmore were left to rue a disastrous start, a dozen wides and several balls dropped into the goalkeeper’s hands.

The same two teams meet again in the First Round of the Championship on the weekend of 28 July.
