SFL Div 2: O'Hanrahans 2-6 Clonmore 0-11

November 8, 2018

Story of game:

15mins: Clonmore 0-3 O'Hans 0-1, we open brightly with points from Gavin 0-2(1f) and Con.

25 mins: Clonmore 0-3 O'Hans 1-3, harsh penalty given against Bobby Rooney on 24 mins, converted by Blues number 15, Lee Walker. Bobby receives yellow card.

Half-time: Clonmore 0-3 O'Hans 1-4 – we're well in the game with the wind advantage to come. All six backs defending courageously and putting their bodies on the line – Shane Murphy shipped a heavy knock in making a brave tackle. Midfield on top with Alan Humphries having a great game inspite of carrying an injury and forwards very lively. Anthony Byrne moved to No 7 on Danny Thompson at HT.

45 mins: Clonmore 0-7 O'Hans 1-5, points from Gavin(f), Niall and Alan Humphries and David McCarney – we're dominating the game – conditions very wet making ball handling difficult.

46 mins: Clonmore 0-7 O'Hans 2-5, goal slightly against the run of play – palmed to the net by full forward, Simon Doyle. Blues forwards very fast and dangerous – Hogie cleared off the line earlier.

52 mins: Collie McGrath black carded for late tackle – replaced by Willie Byrne. Referee, David Hickey (Fenagh), dominating game with his non-stop whistling and brandishing cards in a very clean game. Maybe that's why it was clean !

60 mins: Clonmore 0-11 O'Hans 2-6, points from Gavin (3f) and another great score from David McCarney who's on fire – huge efforts made to get equaliser but a couple of scoring opportunities turned over and Blues hit us on the break – a spirited fightback just falls short.

Well done to all 17 players involved – a big improvement on last two games and on our results against the Blues last year when we lost to them on four occasions. We can still qualify for semi-finals of League if we beat the Fighting Cocks and St Andrews which, on tonight's performance, we're well capable of.

Next game is at home to the Cocks next Sunday, 24 May, at 7pm.
