SFL Div 5: Clonmore 2-11 Ballinabranna 5-13

November 8, 2018

This was an even contest in the first half where a goal from Pauric Lawlor and points by Dale(2), Adam(3) and Francie had us well in contention on a scoreline of 1-6 to 1-7 at half-time. Unfortunately, B'branna scored 1-3 within 5 minutes of the re-start leaving us with a seven point deficit. Some exquisite points from Francie, Pauric and Daniel brought us back into contention at 2-11 to 1-9 on 45 minutes but then another B'branna goal ended the revival. A couple of points from Dale kept the scoreboard ticking over – 3-13 to 1-11 on 55 mins – but two late B'branna goals left them with a flattering 11 point winning margin. Adam Byrne scored a well worked goal with the last kick of the game to take the bad look off it. The Clonmore lads tried hard but we just didn't have the luxury of running in a multitude of subs which B'branna did and their fresh legs made a huge difference.
