Seniors

Our senior team travelled to Derrytrasna on Thursday evening last to take on Sarsfields. The home team were first on the scoreboard followed by a point from the Bridge. In the next four minutes Sarsfield kicked over four unanswered points Silverbridge pulled back three but at this stage Sarsfields were on top. The running game was causing the bridge problems all over the field. In the last 12 Minutes of the half Sarsfields banged in  a goal and five points and in this period Silverbridge only replied with two points from B Byrnes and L Campbell leaving them going in at half time seven points down. Silverbridge took to the field in the second half with a determination to claw back the Sarsfields lead. The Bridge scored first through C McAvoy only for this to be cancelled by another Sarsfield point. In The next fifteen minutes Silverbridge really took the game to Sarsfield dominating midfield and breaking quickly from defence to link with the attack, by the 20th minute they had turned a seven point deficit into a two point lead, unfortunately  Silverbridge were not to score again as against the run of play Sarsfield scored a goal and a point to win a thrilling encounter on a score line of 2-12 to 1-13.
