We had a wonderful night at our Dinner Dance and we hope you did too. Congrats to all award winners and to raffle winners on the night. A list of award winners is provided below. A special thanks to all those who attended and to Niall Breen for taking all the wonderful photos on the night. 

Most teams are back training at this stage and getting into gear. Congrats to Sean Armstrong who came on for Galway on Sunday to score the winning point in their win over Donegal in the league. Up next is Mayo in the stadium this Sunday.

 

Congrats to Camogie Director Veronica Ryan who was awrded Club Person of the Year 2017. She was presented with her award by Lord Mayor Pearce Flannery.

Clothes Bank

Our offcial SKGAA Club Clothes Bank has finally arrived and is located just inside the gates in the Árus so if you have any unwanted clothes be sure and deposit them here and you'll be helping the club at the same time. Míle buíochas to hurling and camogie coach Clem Garvey for organising this great initiative.

First Aid Training

Congrats to the 14 Skgaa coaches who completed first aid training organised again by Clem Garvey and delivered by the Salthill Knocknacarra Cardiac First Responders Voluntary organisation who are doing fantastic and life saving work in our community.

Registration

It is that time of the year again for members to renew their membership. This year, all members will be asked to pay online. This is to reduce the workload on club volunteers and comply fully with data protection procedures. To register just click the link at the bottom of this page or visit

Camogie

U8/9 training Thursday 6pm in Arus.

 

U12 Training resumes this Thursday 5pm In Arus.

 

U14 training Thursday 6.45 in Arus. Parents from this group are encouraged to get involved in Féile this year which is to be held in Connacht, June 8th to 10th . SKGAA will be a venue for matches and both camogie and hurling will be hosting a travelling team each. Assistance  needed for Féile committee, hosting players  and fundraising .Please contact any of the U14 mentors if interested. This is a the biggest  event nationally  in the year for players in this age group and also an opportunity for the club to come together.

 

Juniors train Saturday at Westside astro.

 

Juvenile Football

U9/10/11 teams have all started back training in aras with great numbers back.

U11 will train on Mondays until mid march with u9/10 back in Tuesday's on the wall ball.

 

U13/14 continue to train indoor on Tuesdays.

 

U15/16 continue to train on Sundays on kingfisher 

No games yet but some teams are lining up challenges around galway games.

Juv football predict a quiz launched with all teams getting cards to sell so hope to get a good response to this to raise funds for juvenile football 

The Juvenile Football committee are also looking for help for the year ahead as with over 12 teams and 400 children there is a lot of work involved in running the Football Section.

As the old motto goes its better to have a lot of people do a little rather than a few people do everything so with a new year and fresh enthusiasm if any parents are willing to help out in any way be it as a one off or attend a meeting once a month for 7/8 months please contact Juvenile Football chairman Noel Tyrell on 0879506140 or email noeltyrell@hotmail.com

Ladies Football

Congrats to Siobhán Divilly on ladies player of the year. Thoroughly deserved.  Congrats also to Saoirse Flynn Connacht Minor championship medal and future leader on the field. V proud of both girls.  

u16 and u18 and Juniors all started in doors at St. Endas on Monday evening. 35 Girls in attendance. Excellent session ran by Mike Tarpey, Con Bell, Joe Greaney and Dave Biggins. 

Next session is Mon 12th Feb.

u12 girls training starts back Wed 14th Aras 6pm. Runners and gum shields necessary.
