A chairde,

Commiseration to the minor footballers who lost out to a strong Claregalway team in the county final on Sunday. The lads put in a huge effort but Claregalway were the better team on the day and got the breaks at the right times. There is plenty of room for optimism however with 11 of the starting team underage again next year. A huge thanks to Anthony, Sean and Brendan for all the hard work all year; the lads still finished the year as league and West Board Champions and went unbeaten untill the final.

The junior camogie team had a fantastic win over Padraig Pearses in the Connacht Semi Final and will now contest the Connacht Final this Sunday vs Na Brideoga in Woodmount, Ballinasloe at 1.15pm.

As things begin to wind down, there is still plenty of action to look forward to with the U17 and U15 hurlers both contesting county finals in the coming month. The U15 footballers are due to play their long awaited league final vs St. Michaels this Sunday. The U12 girls' footballers and minor camogie team are also both waiting to play their county semi finals. The senior footballers completed their season with a good win over Cortoon Shamrocks in the league, guaranteeing Division 1 football for the coming year.

U16
Report from last week's county final win:
Our under 16's were crowned county champions on Sunday with a fantastic 2-15 to 1-7 win over Corofin. It was a game that had everything and our team were not found wanting in any department.Having raced into a 3 point lead, Corofin hit back to go 1-3 to 0-3 points ahead mid way through the first half. SKGAA responded in style with 6 unanswered points and went in at half time 0-9 to 1-4 ahead. What followed in the 2nd half was a joy to see with our lads dominating the physical, skill  and mental battles all over the pitch. We scored 2-6 in the 2nd half and never looked like losing. It was fantastic to see 21 players contribute on the day and in fact all 26 players on the panel tasted championship football at some stage this year. A huge thank you to the players who have shown unbelievable commitment to our club and also to the parents and supporters who have been with us all during the year. It was a special day for a special team who have now vacated the juvenile section of the club in style

After an unbeaten run of five games ,U11s lost their first match in the county summer league competition last Thursday at the Prairie at the semi final stage of the competition. The girls put up a strong spirited performance against a very skillfull Oranmore Maree team but unfortunately came up short. Attention now turns to city league to be played out over the next few weeks.

U13s played a city league blitz last Saturday in Carnmore along with Liam Mellowes, Oranmore Maree and the home team. After a rusty  start against Carnmore , the girls got into their stride and were competitive against Liam Mellowes and won their last match against Oranmore Maree. This Sunday they host Cois Fharraige, Castlegar and Turloughmore in the last round of matches before the finals day in the coming weeks.

Juniors continued their fantastic season with an excellent win over Padraig Pearses of Roscommon by a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-3 in the semi-final of the Connacht Junior Rose Nixon Cup played in the Prairie last Saturday in front of a strong local crowd.  The team now progress to the final against Na Brideoga of Mayo to be played on Sunday 22nd October at 1.15pm at Woodmount, Roscommon (grounds of Padraig Pearses).  Victory would put the seal on a memorable season for this dedicated and talented group of girls.
