On the field, things are beginning to wind down for the Winter. However there was more silverware collected by our U15 Camogie team who won the Divison A Shield last weekend. Senior

The senior footballers will play Milltown away in the Div. 1 league this Sunday at 11am TBC.

Minor

Hard luck to the minor footballers who were beaten by Westport in the Connacht semi final in Bekan last night. It just wasn't to be for the lads who went down by 9 points in bitterly cold and extremely foggy conditions. Injuries and black cards meant SK lost some of their inluential players early in the game but on balance Westport were the better team on the night and deserved the win. Their team was comprised almost entirely of 18 year olds whereas we only had 5 U18s starting on the night meaning there is a lot of positives to take from the game. That's it for minor this year who have had a fantastic year reclaiming the Minor title for the club. Thanks especially to our management team of Norman, Paul, Gerry and Diarmaid for all the hard work during the year. We trained or played 3 times a week for exactly 10 months and 2 days so a rest is well deserved.

Camogie

U8s  Younger groups from U10 down are on break this week for mid term and will resume with wall ball next week. Keep an eye out for texts of any new times.

U15s had a great victory in division A shield final last Sunday against Davitts in Ardrahan. In a real game of two halves the Salthil Knocknacarra girls won out by one point in an exciting encounter. Our girls took an early lead and went in at half time 4-1 to 0-1 ahead. However the second half was a different story with Davitts piling on pressure, restrictting SK to one point in the second half. The SK girls showed great resolve and character to just hold the opposition off at the full time whistle. Final score SK 4-2, Davitts 3-4. . The victory and the nature of it was just reward for the girls who have put in a great effort over a long season. Well done to mentors Gerry Kelly, John Burke, Cathal McGinley and Susan Murray.

The minors had a great win over Kilconieron on Monday which puts them through to a play-off for a place in the semifinals. Next match will be the weekend of 10th.

Don't forget Camogie AGM next Wednesday 7th November at 7pm at Aras. It is in the interest of all for as many parents to attend as possible.

AGM of the camogie section will be held Wednesday 7th November at 7pm in Aras. All parents and players  are invited and encouraged to attend. This is an oppurtunity to look back on the year with an eye to the future also. It is also a chance to gain an insight into how the camogie section operates away from the pitch in relation to administration, funding etc.

A new Camogie Director is to be appointed this year as Veronica Ryan is standing down. Thanks to her for all her work over the last three years. If you are interested in the role please let the committee know in advance of the meeting or on the night. There are other committee roles also to be created or filled so if anyone would like to get involved dont be shy….maybe there is a job you could do ? See you all on the 7th November.

Ladies Football

Ladies football AGM will take place upstairs in the Arus on Tuesday November 13th at 7.30pm.

We would ask each outgoing ladies football manager to attend and to bring at lease one or two members of their coaching staff.

Would you forward this email to all members of your individual groups and have an updated list of all people involved for the year ahead.

Please rsvp to Mike Tarpey (mtarps7@gmail.com)

Could each manager come up with suggestions as to how we could improve ladies football within the club and also maybe share something that has worked well within your group.

Most of the committee positions have been filled already.

We would encourage parents to attend, particularly the ladies.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
