SKGAA Newsletter 5/1/18

November 8, 2018

Athbhliain faoi mhaise daoibh go léir!

Happy New Year to all our members. We hope you are enjoying a nice Christmas break and we wish all our members the very best for the year to come.

Not much news to report on yet bar a few little bits.

Our annual Club Dinner Dance and Awards Night will take place on Friday the 2nd February so please keep the date free. Planning has already begun and we hope to have another wonderful night. More details coming soon......

Unfortunately the U21 football final was again postponed. Despite SKGAA being prepared to play on 3 seperate weekends the game has been postponed. With the county team up and running again, it's hard to see when this game will ever be played now and the SKGAA management and players are extremely disappointed by this.

Galway Senior Football Team

A huge congrats to Finian Hanley who has announced his retirement from intercounty football after 15 years of serving with the Tribesmen GAA. He can look back with tremendous pride captaining Galway between 2011-2014, winning 3 Connacht Titles, an U21 All Ireland, receiving an All Star Nomination and representing Ireland on 5 International Rules Series'. We at Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club are all so proud of Finian and look forward to seeing him line out for skgaa for many years to come!

Congrats to Evan Wynne, John Maher and Robert Finnerty who all made their Galway Senior debuts this week in Galway's win over Sligo in the FBD championship. Evan and John played full match with Robert coming off the bench and scoring a point. Next up is mayo this weekend in Castlebar.
