South East - Carrigdhoun Junior Football Championship

November 8, 2018

Sunday April 5th in Shanbally @ 6.30PM

Ballygarvan begin the defence of their South East Junior Football Title against Carrigaline at Shanbally on Sunday evening. On paper this should be a good opertunity for Ballygarvan to start with a win, but that is not what usually happens. Carrigaline’s intermediate team are laying on Saturday night and until that assignment is completed will we know the make-up of the Carrigaline team.  Definately out for Ballygarvan are Cian O’Conchuir and Dan McSweeney through injury, while Dave Murphy has only just returned to training and may not be risked on this occasion, while Paudie O’Sullivan has yet to make himself available and P J MacGearlilt has transferred back to Kerry.

Alan Butler is the new captain and he will backbone the back line along with Alan Murphy, Shane O’Leary, John Barron and Ciaran O’Sullivan. Ger Spillane and Stephen White should be the mid-field pairing, while up front Donal Sweeney, Big Joe Spillane, Matthew O’Riordan and Damien O’Sullivan should get the bulk of the scores.

This team are determined to atone for last year’s loss in the Co Final, training has gone well and hopefully they will take a step further along the road this weekend.
