St Mary's Reach Leinster Final

November 8, 2018

ST MARY’S EDENDERRY found their scoring touch in the second half as they dumped out the holders in this semi-final at Pairc Tailteann.

The Offaly school squandered numerous chances in the opening period, before producing a vintage second-half performance.

A Cian McMonagle goal put Edenderry ahead for the first time on 29 minutes and the sides were level at the break, 1-4 to 0-7.

Ger Leech regained the lead with a pointed free within a minute of the restart and the midlanders went on a scoring spree after that, and led by 2-12 to 0-9 at the end of the third quarter.

McMonagle also added his second goal, with Leech firing over three points in that period.

The game was over as a contest by the time McMonagle completed his hat-trick of goals on 53 minutes.
