St. Patrick’s Ladies GAA Club Notes w/c 02nd July 2018

November 7, 2018

Under 11’s
We have entered an under 11 team into upcoming under 11 summer league competition. First game is away to Thurles Sarsfields next Monday 9th of July at 7.30pm.

Under 14’s
Our under 14 girls started their league campaign last Thursday evening away to Golden. It was another sweltering evening, where the Pats girls got off to a flying start and never looked back. The forwards were in good form and kept the score board ticking over with some well taken goals and points. Midfield was as busy as ever doing a lot of hard running. Backs although was not there sternest test kept their concentration and defended well when required. Goalkeepers had a quiet evening and anything asked of them they did very well.
Golden are a new club and this was their first game. Well done to all their girls and management and we would wish them all the best for the remainder of the competition.
Team for the evening Anna O’Dwyer, Laura Butler, Katie Power, Gemma Gahan, Clodagh Horan, Claire O Brien, Laura Murphy, Ailish Ryan, Izzy Maher, Mary Ann Fitzgerald, Niamh Boland, Keelin Ryan, Karol Ryan, Aoife O’Brien, Sarah Boland, Faye Noonan and Orlaith McGrath.
Well done to our three under girls Izzy Maher, Mary Ann Fitzgerald and Clodagh Foley who will lined out with Fethard on Saturday past wining their preliminary round under 14 Munster Community game.

Under 16’s
Well done to our under 16 girls who overcame Boherhalan in the under 16B county quarter final on Tuesday past. It was a tough game for both teams in the sweltering heat but both sets of girls gave it their all and served up a good game of football. St. Patrick’s played some nice interlinking football and defended ferociously for long periods putting huge pressure on the Boherhalan girls, to shoot from distance on many occasions throughout the game. Final score: St. Patrick’s 2.12 Boherhalan 1.6.
Team: Dearbhla Morrissey, Laura Murphy, Katie McCormack (c), Chloe Healy, Robyn Horan, Aoibheann McGrath, Erin O Brien, Keelin Ryan, Eabha Hogan, Siobhán O'hanlon, Jess Strappe, Niamh Boland, Eabha Fitzgerald, Izzy Maher, Mary Ann Fitzgerald and Katie Power.
We will now play Sliabhnamban on Monday (2nd) at 8pm in Monroe in the county u16B semi final. Best of luck girls and team management of Helen Hogan, Eamon Murphy and Úna O'Brien.

Under 17’s
Our under 17 team will play their first round summer league match vs Golden in Anner Park Cloneen this Tuesday (3rd) at 7.15pm.

Junior Ladies
Well done to our junior Ladies team who got their championship campaign off to the best possible start on Monday evening past, beating Gortnahoe Glengoole LadiesFootball in their first round match. St. Patrick’s dominated for long periods in the first half and were well up at half time. Gortnahue put in a big effort in the second but had too big of a gap to close, with St. Patrick’s running out comfortable winners.
