Under 8’s
Well done to our under 8 girls who played in the under 8 blitz hosted by our neighbouring club Mullinahone last Friday evening. They played 4 games against Mullinahone, Moyle Rovers, Clerihan and Ardfinnan. Everyone of them were brilliant and really enjoyed the blitz and they continue to go from strength to strength.
Team was Andrea Meagher, Abbie Hennebry, Zoe Duggan, Éabha Browne, Réiltiín Kenny-Casey, Lily Clancy, Paige Molloy, Evie Noonan, Judy Kelly, Tia Lonergan, Lisa Byrne, Aila Haywood, Kate Flanagan, Sarah O Brien and Emily Casey.
Many thanks to the Mullinahone Club for organising the blitz!

Under 11’s
Our under 11 team have had a busy week. Firstly, they played Brian Borus last Thursday in Clogheen. They came up against a physically & much stronger Brian Borus team on the evening but great credit to every player who never gave up trying right to the end. Thanks to everyone who were able to make the long journey to Clogheen.
On Saturday morning past, they then hosted Cappawhite in Anner Park Cloneen, where registered a great win in the under 11 Summer League. It was a real team effort with everyone giving their best. Final score: St. Patrick’s: 6.2 Cappawhite: 5.0. Big thanks to Cappa Lfc who made the long journey to Anner Park Cloneen for the match.
Next game is a home fixture vs Cahir in Cloneen on Thursday July 26th at 7.30pm.

Under 14’s
Next round under 14 summer league game is a home fixture vs Boherhalan on Monday 23rd at 6.15pm in Cloneen.

Under 16’s
Well done to our under 16 girls who took part in the inaugural Thurles Sars-Ladies under 16 football blitz on Saturday past. In the group stage, they went unbeaten with wins over Holycross Lgfa, Raperees, Arravale Rovers Ladiesfc and Thurles Sarsfields 1 & topped their group and then played Ardfinnan in the semi final & came away victorious. They then played local neighbours and under 16A champions Fethard and whilst giving it their all, came up short and got well beaten by a very good Fethard side. The girls can be incredibly proud of the huge efforts they put in over 120 minutes of football and never gave up in the final against Fethard, even when the game was gone from them. Well done to Fethard, who won out the blitz.
Team: Erin O Brien and Aoibheann McGrath (joint captains), Katie McCormack, Jess Strappe, Dearbhla Morrissey, Eimear Boland, Aisling Boland, Eabha Fitzgerald, Eabha Hogan and Robyn Horan.
Huge thanks to Mark Heffernan, Paul Stapleton, Elaine Scanlon and all the organising committee in the Thurles Sarsfields Ladies Club for all their work in putting together and running off the blitz so smoothly. Our girls had a great days football, were well looked after and enjoyed the day immensely.

Under 17’s
Next round under 17 summer league game is a away fixture vs Holycross on Friday 23rd at 7.30pm in Ballycahill.

Junior Ladies
Well done to our junior Ladies team who won their 3rd round championship match vs Silvermines on Friday evening past, leaving it three wins out of three & a guaranteed semi final spot in the Junior B championship. The team made the long journey to Dolla, in what was a highly competitive game over the 60 minutes. Conditions were slippy, with heavy downpours of rain throughout the game, which took both teams a while to get familiar with!
St. Patrick’s dominated for long periods of the first half and went in at half time: St. Patrick’s 2.7 Silvermines 0.4. However, the Silvermines ladies were not going to go down without a fight & registered 4 goals in the second half & got in for 5 points as well. St. Patrick’s kept the scoreboard ticking over and registered some really good scores. Final score: St. Patrick’s 5.17 Silvermines 4.9.
Team: Sadhbh Morrissey, Erin O’Brien, Maria McGrath (c), Eadaoin Wilson, Abaigeal Maher, Una O'Brien, Clodagh Vaughan, Sarah Mockler, Aileen Kelly, Leanne Murphy, Eabha Hogan, Kate Walsh, Siobhán Vaughan, Caoimhe Ryan, Niamh Keane, Aileen Sugrue, Eimear Boland, Dearbhla Morrissey, Emily Ruttle and Chloe Griffin.
Management Team: Michael Moroney, Helen Hogan and Paula Ryan (first aid).
Huge thanks to all players, parents, family members and supporters who made the long trip to Dolla.

G4O Team
Our G4O Ladies team headed to Mallow on Saturday past to take part in the annual Munster LGFA G4O Blitz. This was their first outing of the year, with 10 Ladies hitting the road for Mallow at 8:30am. This was a 9 aside tournament. There were 3 pitches in use that were in turn divided into 3 pitches. (9 in total). Each pitch had approx 5 teams. St. Patrick’s Ladies were on pitch 1 for the day. The other teams in our group were:
1. Banter (Cork)
2. Shamrocks (Waterford)
3. Milltown/Castlemaine
4. Athea (Limerick)
Our first game was against Banteer. It was close enough with the St. Patrick’s Ladies not getting into their stride until nearly the end when Sally Duggan got the better of the keeper to score a tremendous goal and Breda Dunne popped over a lovely point. St. Patrick’s Ladies got off to a great start.
Our second game was against Athea of Limerick. This was a frustrating game there were plenty of chances we just couldn't concert. Helen Hogan got a lovely well worked score but it wasn't enough. St. Patrick’s Ladies lost the second by a point.
Our third game was against Milltown/Castlemaine. It took a little bit to get going in this game. Michelle Kelly was in goals and was very unfortunate not to clear her lines. Saving brilliantly but unfortunately the ball rebounded to the opposition. Michelle got her fingers to the ball the second time but it trickled into the net. But the women never gave up. Sally Duggan got another super goal and with only a point in it with seconds to go Breda Dunne popped a beauty with her left to level up the game.
Our final game was against Shamrocks who looked the quickest/fittest team in the group. The St. Patrick’s Ladies tackled and blocked and did everything they could but with only 9 and no subs they were feeling the pinch but never gave up and held them to only a few scores.
Team coach Trish Strappe was so very proud of each and everyone for their effort and commitment they left everything on the pitch. Afterwards we had a quick spin to The Corbett Court for a delicious dinner and back to McCarthys in Fethard for refreshments & finally finishing off in Phillys in Drangan. Another great outing & all home safe and sound.
