Our junior ladies took on the Moyle Rovers B team, last Tuesday evening in Monroe in the Junior D Cup final. Our girls played their hearts out for the 60 minutes and stayed with the Moyle Rovers team for the first half, however the youthful Moyle Rovers team pulled away in the second half and won comfortably. Team was: Team line out: Marie O’Connell, Siobhan Dunne, Roisin Horan, Denise Noonan, Aileen Kelly, Rachel McCormack, Rebecca Hayden (capt), Sarah Mockler, Lynda Nevin, Una O’Brien, Siobhan Vaughan, Deirdre O’Donovan, Helen Hogan, Shelley O’Dwyer and Maeve Browne. Subs: Aileen Sugrue, Niamh Dunne, Niamh Morrissey, Aine O’Donovan.

The St. Patrick’s ladies will reflect on their achievements throughout 2012 and can take solace on their performances during their previous four round championship games over the summer; however they will be disappointed that they did not come closer to Moyle Rovers in the final but found themselves up against a team that were quite simply in a different league. The club and in particular the junior ladies team would like to sincerely thank the team management of Michael Nash, Pat Morrissey, Trish Strappe and Helen Hogan for all their commitment and efforts throughout the year.

Good Luck

The St. Patrick’s Ladies GAA club and in particular the players and management of the Junior Ladies Team would like to wish Rachel McCormack and Roisin Horan the very best of luck as they both head ‘across the water’ to undertake their Nursing Degrees. Also to Anne Sugrue who departed for Australia last week. The three girls will be sorely missed by all their team mates. Good luck girls!
