Under 12's

Our u12 girls (photo above) played their last competitive match on Friday past, when they took on Moycarkey in the u12 county C league final. The game was played in perfect weather conditions in Duneske Cahir. Moycarkey were first to score a point and this was followed up by a well taken point by Eabha Fitzgerald and shortly after Eabha Hogan scored a point. Shortly after, St Patrick's were then awarded a penalty, but failed to convert it. The St Patrick's girls enjoyed a lot of possession throughout the first half and went in at half time two points up, St Patrick's 0.4 Moycarkey 0.2. Within in the minutes of the second half starting, Moycarkey scored a goal, in response the St Patrick's girls got two points in quick succession from Eabha Fitzgerald and Jessica Strappe. St Patrick's dominated the second half and had several goal chances but the Moycarkey backs defended well, ensuring a green flag for St Patrick's wasn't raised. With one minute to go, St Patrick's led by two points and in one quick move by the Moycarkey girls the ball made its way up the field and was in the St Patrick's net. Time but all had run out and the final whistle went. Final score St Patrick's 0.8 Moycarkey 2.3. Our girls gave it their all over the 40 minutes and were so disappointed to have lost this match, however they can be proud of their performance. St Patrick's team line out: Dearbhla Morrissey, Robyn Horan, Katie McCormack, Rachel O'Halloran, Inez Noonan, Sarah Crannitch, Rachel Butler, Eimear Boland and Eabha Hogan (0.3), Jessica Strappe (0.1), Eabha Fitzgerald (0.4, 0.1f), Erin O'Brien, Aoibheann McGrath, Ashling Boland, Ava Heffernan. Subs all used: Siadbh Morrissey, Heather Gahan, Siobhan O'Hanlon, Isabelle Hayden (unable to play).

Under 6's, 8's and 10's

Our under 6, 8 and 10's are now finished their wednesday evening training. We sincerely thank our coaches who gave their time to coach our girls. These girls have made great progress during the year in developing their football skills and I'm sure they can't wait to be back again next year.

Congratulations to Anna O'Dwyer who competed and won gold in under 8 skills test in Thurles recently. This is a great achievement for Anna.

Well done Anna.

Well done to Katie Power under 10 who won gold and two Irish records for archery. This adds to her already impressive collection of national and international titles. Having already won a world indoor title earlier this year Katie is tipped by Archery Ireland coaches as being a prospective future Olympian. Well done Katie.

Under 14's

Our under 14's bowed out of the summer league after an enthralling game with Holycross. The game was played with such high tempo with some grest scores created by both sides. We would like to wish the Holycross keeper a speedy recovery after sustaining an injury during the game.

Under 10 and 12 Parish League

Our end of year under 10 and 12 girls football parish league will take place next Sunday 05th October at 12.30pm in Anner Park Cloneen. There will be four mixed teams: Cork, Armagh, Galway and Dublin, who will battle it out for the Parish League cup and plate. Best of luck to all the girls and coaches taking part.

Our Gaelic 4 mothers and others are training hard for their upcoming national blitz which takes place in Portmarnock, Dublin on sat oct 18th. We wish them the best of luck!
