The St. Mary’s U-14 team travelled to Dunfanaghy on Monday (31/8) to play Na Rossa in the county league semi-final.  Despite being outplayed for large periods of the first half we had a slender 1 point half-time lead.  In the second half we put in a much better performance and competed excellently against a strong Na Rossa side.  The sides were level with 3 minutes remaining but Na Rossa finished stronger to win by 3 points.  Final Score: St. Mary’s 1-7:  Na Rossa 1-10.

2 days later, the U-14 team travelled to Milford to play the home team in the Championship quarter-final.  St Mary’s started well and led 3-2 to 1-2 at half-time.  Milford then staged a come back reducing the gap to 2 points however St Mary’s responded well to finish victorious on a score of 4-6 to 2-3.

The next round takes place on Wednesday (9/9) against Burt in Convoy at 6.30pm.  Players should gather at the club-rooms at 5.45.

 

The St. Mary’s team made the long trip to Kilcar GAA club on Saturday (09/05) where they were guests for their U-10 Blitz.  We played well in the 3 games against the home side, Killybeg’s and Glen Colmcille.  Our thanks to Kilcar for their generous invitation and hospitality.

 

The minor season game to an end with a defeat in the championship game on Friday night last against a strong Mc Cumhaill’s side. This team have performed admirably throughout the season and no doubt a number of these players will go on to represent the club at senior level.  The management would like to take the opportunity to thank the players for their effort and commitment throughout the year.

 

Senior and Reserve training continues on Tuesday and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
