Tullow Tournament FINAL: Clonmore 3-15 Portlaoise 0-4

November 8, 2018

On a balmy evening in Tullow, Clonmore put in a good hour of hard running and fast intelligent football to make this a useful workout in spite of the one sided nature of the game.

Plenty of good performances all over the field with the scoring honours going to David Mulvany who notched 1-4 from centre-forward and Darren McGrath who chipped in with three points from play. At the back, the defensive sextet were solid and drove forward at every opportunity. Gary Byrne in goal was a safe pair of hands and his kick-outs are excellent with a nice low trajectory. Championship V K/C is now 3 weeks away – weekend of 30 July (subject to Carlow's continued progress in qualifiers).
