U-16 League: St Patricks 2-14 Clonmore 3-6

November 8, 2018

The home side dominated the opening half with the help of a strong breeze at their back, although it was Clonmore who opened the scoring with a fine point from Kean Doyle.

From that point on it was St Pats who took control of the match hitting a goal and 9 points before the interval. Clonmore responded with points from Tom Pollard and Josh Bowes to leave the half time score of St Pats 1-09 Clonmore 0-03.

Clonmore started the 2nd half on the front foot. The away side hit the net 3 times with goals from Josh Bowes (2) and 1 from Kean Doyle. St Pats responded with 5 well taken points. Clonmore refused to lie down and hit back with points from Josh Bowes Tom Pollard and Matt Cullen to leave just 2pts between the sides. A goal mouth scramble saw a Josh Bowes goal bound effort blocked and cleared to safety. But the comeback wasn’t to be as the home side netted a late goal to seal a 5 point victory. A very enjoyable match with some quality football played by both sides
