The U16 Footballers lost the Leinster League Final by 3 points in St Lomans GAA Mullingar on Saturday.
Edenderry had led by 2-04 to 0-02 at half time and were still 6 points ahead nearing the end of normal time, however they conceded two goals in quick succession to see the sides finish level on a 2-09 to 3-06 scoreline.
In extra time Edenderry quickly regained their superiority to lead by 3 points at half time in extra time 2-12 to 3-06. In the second half however the Longford side began to gain the upper hand. They held Edenderry scoreless for the remainder of the game and scored 1-03 themselves to win on a 4-09 to 2-12 scoreline.
