Reigning championship Clara had home advantage against Tullamore, but lost out by eight points. Elsewhere, in the clostest game of the afternoon, St Michael’s edged past Shamrocks, while there were wins also for Edenderry and St Broughan’s. The results were:
Tullamore 2-11, Clara 2-3; St Broughan’s 1-15, St Coleman’s 0-9; St Patrick’s 1-13, Shannon Gaels 2-6; St Michael’s 0-10, Shamrocks 0-9.
