Edenderry under 12 footballers had their second win in the Under 12 Championship, when they had a comfortable win over Tullamore at home last Saturday.
Edenderry almost made the perfect start to this game when Brian O’Connell gave a great pass to Conor Farrell. Conor then hit a very good shot, but he was unlucky to see his shot rebound off the post to a Tullamore player who cleared the ball from danger. Tullamore then came up field and won themselves a 45 metre free after Peter McNamara had made a fine block. From the resulting free, the Tullamore player sent the ball straight over the bar from the ground. Edenderry soon found their rhythm, and Jordan Hayes put them in front with a very good goal. That score was soon followed by a brilliant point from Conor Farrell to put his side a goal in front. Tullamore then scored their second point, before Eoin Farrell responded with a good point, after a pass from David Moloney. Tullamore then rallied with three good points to draw level, before Brendan Lynch was forced to leave the field early with injury, with Callum Roche coming on as his replacement. David Moloney then put Edenderry back in front when he sent an unstoppable shot to the top corner of the net, after a good pass from Lee Hyland. Edenderry then scored their third goal of the game, when Lee Hyland reacted quickest to a loose ball in front of the Tullamore goals, as he sent the ball to the back of the net. Conor Farrell then scored his second point of the game as he coolly converted a free awarded for a foul on Eoin Farrell. Tullamore scored two points, before Edenderry grabbed the last two scores of the half when Conor Farrell scored an excellent point off his left boot, and then Aaron Holt scored a great goal to leave nine points between the teams at halftime.

Edenderry made a great start to the second half when David Moloney rose highest to fist the ball to the Tullamore net, after Conor Farrell sent in a high ball from a free. Tullamore then scored their opening point in the second half, before Conor Farrell kicked two great points, one off his left boot and one off his right. Jordan Hayes then kicked an excellent point, as he sent a booming shot over the bar from long range. Tullamore could have scored a couple of goals over the next few minutes, only they were to be denied by a great save from Jack Kelly, and a last ditch challenge from Peter McNamara. Edenderry management then brought in Stephen Osborne for Aaron Holt, before Conor Farrell converted a free which he won himself. Tullamore scored their last point of the game, before Jordan Farrell and Evan Hackett were introduced for Andrew Moloney and Jordan Hayes. The last score of the game went to Lee Hyland, who sent a powerful shot to the back of the net after a great solo run through the heart of the Tullamore defence.
This was a very good display from Edenderry with some good performances from Andrew and David Moloney, Jordan Hayes, Lee Hyland and Conor Farrell. But a special mention must go to Aaron Moules and Peter McNamara who gave masterful displays for the entire game in the full back line.
