Under 15s enjoy Pa O'Brien tournament in Cork

November 8, 2018

Our U15's travelled to Fermoy at the weekend in the prestigious "Pa O'Brien Tournament". Some big name clubs from all over the country were taking part, such as Austin Stacks, Na Piarsaigh and Na Fianna to mention a few. The teams were split into 4 groups which led to 4 finals. The first game against Na Fianna of Dublin, ended 2-11 to 1-3 against. Although the score line didn't make good reading, the Clonmore lads showed great spirit with Billy Lawlor (1-1) and Rory Maguire (0-2) the scorers and Sean Tompkins getting the "Man of the Match". Next, Clonmore overcame Passage West of Cork by 2-3 to 1-4, scorers: Rory Maguire (1-0), Dan Cashin (1-0), Rory McKiernan (0-1), Keith Bowes (0-1) and Dylan Doyle (0-1). Our final match was against Eire Og of Cork ended 2-7 to 0-1 with Jordan Tallon our lone scorer in a spirited performance. This put us into a "C final" and up against a very strong "Sam Maguires" of Dunmanway, Cork. The score line ended with 3-7 to 0-2 against. This didn't put off the lads who played some fabulous football throughout the tournament. The players and mentors were extremely happy with the day and have already booked their place in next years tournament.
