Under 16/minors

November 8, 2018

In very difficult conditions St Mary’s under 16’s came out on the losing end of a one point defeat against near neighbours Naomh Colmcille in Newtown on Friday last. After a first half in which St. Mary’s played some attractive football the away side were four points up. However in the second half the home side started brightly and scored a goal which was quickly followed by a converted penalty to see the sides draw level.  In the end both sides had chances but some neat football from Naomh Colmcille and poor discipline for the St. Mary’s lads saw the Naomh Colmcille team emerge victorious. Final Score: St. Mary’s 3 7: Naomh Colmcille 2 11. Best for convoy were Conor Kearns, Conor McNamee, Gavin Mc Brearty and James Kee. Scorers: Peter Blake 1 4, Paul O’Leary 2 0, Dean Bonner 0 2, Jack Blake 0 1. Training for under 16 and minors is on Tuesday at 5.30pm. Next game is away to Robert Emmet’s on Friday.
