In the first game Naomh Olaf’s skill levels were excellent with some great combination play throughout the game. In these games a point is given for a block and Olafs made 20 blocks during the game which was great to see at this age group. The determination of the children was great. Nathan Kennedy, Alex Murphy, Oisin Horgan and David Pollard took some lovely scores in the forwards and were ably supported in midfield by Sean O’ Brien and Oscar Bent who helped out in defence and attack. The back line also did their job by keeping close tabs on the Cuala forwards, particularly James Byrne and Evan Cahill. Final Score Naomh Olaf 53 Cuala 34

Naomh Olaf under 9 footballers played a great game against Cuala on Saturday morning. Joe Hastings and Daragh O Sullivan provided saves in goal at key moments in the game preventing Cuala from getting the upper hand. Great blocking in the defence by Shane Cleary prevented Cuala from gaining points a number of times throughout the game. Also in defence Sean Kiernan and Conor Cullinane kept the pressure on the Cuala forwards and got the ball through to midfielder Lorka O hAnnrachain who worked very hard supporting defence and feeding the forwards.Cian O Sullivan and Dylan Boland worked well as a team with excellent passing and accurate kicking between the posts. Through accurate kicking, teamwork and excellent blocking Naomh Olaf enjoyed the win. Final Score Naomh Olaf 33 Cuala 22
