Under 6’s were due to take part in a blitz in Rathangan on Wednesday but unfortunatelty the pitch was waterlogged.
This blitz will now take place during the coming week.
 
UNDER 8S
 
UNDER 8S HAD THEIR LEAGUE MATCH AWAY TO CASTLEDERMOT ON SATURDAY. SUNCROFT FEILDED THREE TEAMS AND WON ALL OF THEIR GAMES AGAINST VERY GOOD CASTLEDERMOT SIDES. BEST FOR SUNCROFT WERE CIAN RYAN, LOUIE PHELAN, SENAN BRANNOCK, LAUREN HETHERINGTON, HUGH DOYLE, BEN MCINERNEY AND AISLINN DOOLEY. WELL DONE TO ALL THE CHILDREN WHO TRAVELLED AND THANKS TO THE PARENTS WHO CAME ALONG AS WELL.

Under 10A’s had two great matches this week, winning one they could have lost by a point and losing one they could have won by a point.

Both teams got into action straight away. David Sutton hit the first goal of his 2 -5 tally after gaining possession in front of goal. Kevin Forde of Rathangan replied for Rathangan with one of his goals to level things up. Sam Jordan pounced on a loose ball to fire Suncroft ahead. Rathangan dominated the latter half of first half with a goal from Adam O’Brien and points from Kevin Forde to leave score at half time Suncroft 2-2 Rathhangan 2-5.
 
In second half Rathangan continued where they left off in first and scored three goals in sucession. This left 12 points between teams but Suncroft never gave up. A David Sutton point reduced the deficit to eleven. Suncroft got a free close in and David Sutton conveted it for a goal. Stephen Crowley was picking up nearly every ball from Rathangan’s kickout. He fed one of the balls to Jack Doyle and he scored a goal. The comeback was on. Two points from Kian Pendrgast left 3 points between sides.
 
Stephen Crowley picked up more possesion inside Rathangan half and converted it to a goal. The side were level. Rathangan go up the pitch and score a goal only for it to be disallowd. You could not stage a better finish. Suncroft go down pich and draw a free. Up steps David Sutton and scores a point. The game is over shortly after much to delight of all Suncroft team and supporters. Rathangan had great players in Shane Cross, Robert Walshe, Kevin Forde, Shane Mooney and Adam O’ Brien . Stephen Crowley and David Sutton were outstanding for Suncroft and ably assisted by Richie Collins, Aaron Sinott, Bryan Reid, Jack Doyle, Owen Foy and Kian Pendergast.

Moorefield 3-9
 
 
Suncroft U10 A’s lost out by the minimum margin in a very exciting and exceptionally high standard Division 1 home game to Moorefield lat Saturday on a scoreline of 3-9 to 3-8. Suncroft started strongly and lead by 1-5 to 1-2 at half time with top scorer David Sutton contributing 1-3 in that first half period. However Moorefield got on top in the second half going 4 points ahead at one stage before Suncroft put in a storming finish to reduce the final margin to just 1 point. For Suncroft Stephen Crowley was impressive all through at midfield ably assisted by Kallum Ennis, with Aaron Dunne and Conor Smith playing well in defence, and Sam Jordan and Owen Foy impressing in the forwards. Nathan Williamson played a staring roll after coming on as a second half sub contributing 1-1. Moorefield were strong in all position and in particular at full back Robbie Higgins and in midfield Tom Harrington and Ian Dunneand inthe half forwards Gary Redmond.

CASTLEMITCHELL 4-5 SUNCROFT B 3-3
 
 
SUNCROFT PLAYED AWAY TO CASTLEMITCHELL IN THE LEAGUE LAST THURSDAY EVENING. CASTLEMITCHELL PLAYED US IN A CHALLENGE MATCH A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WE KNEW GOING DOWN WE HAD TOUGH OPPOSITION. SUNCROFT PLAYED VERY WELL AGAINST A VERY GOOD SIDE AND THE MENTORS WERE DELIGHTED WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE. BEST FOR SUNCROFT WERE ZACK MULLINS, CARLA ENNIS, TOM MARTIN, DIARMUID BRANNOCK,WILLIAM FLOOD, SEAN KNIGHT IN GOALS AND CIARAN DOWNEY WHO CAME IN AS A SUBSITUTE. OUR NEXT MATCH IS AT HOME TO GRANGE THIS THURSDAY EVENING AT 7.00PM.
