The premier Junior team got the ball rolling on Friday night away to Douglas Hall on their all-weather pitch.This Douglas Hall team although two leagues lower than our own team have taken big scalps on their own pitch previously with Leeside being the latest when they went out of the AOH cup on a 1 – 0 scoreline, so going in there the lads were slightly anxious. This anxiety was further added to when Douglas Hall took the lead on the half hour mark. However our lads began to come to grips with the surface and were back level after 38 minutes with a fine goal from Michael O’Sullivan after some good teamwork and passing up the left. Shortly before half time Dhanni Merrick having received the ball on the edge of the box dummied his defender to turn and curl a beautiful right foot shot into the top corner. Coachford scored again through Steven Murray early in the second half to stifle any hopes of a Douglas come back and later on Liam Eager converted a penalty to make the final score 4 – 1 to Coachford who now go into the second round draw of the Munster Junior cup.

On Saturday it was the turn of the U17 team who were away to Richmond. Having suffered a 4 – 0 defeat the previous week they were determined to make amends and did so in fine style coming away as 5 – 1 winners.
Sunday saw the U12’s compete against higher ranked Avondale Utd in the national cup first round in Carraigadrohid and they turned in a workmanlike performance to completely overwhelm there opponents on a 7 – 2 scoreline. Liam Twohig got the show on the road when from the kick- off he was put through one on one with the keeper and slotted the ball nicely. After some missed chances by Killinardrish/ Coachford Avondale were back on level terms after a defensive mixup which led to a clearance rebounding into the net. However our lads recovered well from the set back and were back in front before the break.After early Avondale pressure in the second half with no return for it on the scoreboard Killinardrish /Coachford took control and through some fine passing and link up play went on to score 5 more goals. Scorers on the day were Liam Twohig (3), Luke Casey (3) and Jack Oldham (1).
