Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn against Drom & Inch in the semi-finals of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship – the semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11th. In their respective semi-final Thurles Sarsfields will take on Kilruane MacDonagh’s.

Under-21A: The under-21A hurling team will face Roscrea in the opening round of this year’s championship. The fixtures schedule for that competition have not been released as of yet. This year the under-21A hurling team will be managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris and Michael McNamara. The 2015 Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipperary Under-21A Hurling Championship will be run on a knock-out-loser’s-group system. Éire Óg have been drawn against Roscrea in the opening round. Kilruane MacDonagh’s will face Ballina in a preliminary round game while the remaining first round games will see Kildangan face the winner of the Kilruane versus Ballina game and Toomevara take on Newport Gaels.

Score4Eddie: In 1993 Nenagh Éire Óg and Aherlow faced off in the county under-21 football final in what has probably become one of the most famous county finals ever played, not because of the quality of football on show, but due to the expert commentary of “Effin” Eddie Moroney. Last week members of both teams reunited for the brilliant Score4Eddie cause, a fundraising campaign established by the friends and family of the late Eddie Connolly from Loughmore-Castleiney. Eddie Connolly was a fantastic sportsman who represented his club and county with distinction in both hurling and football. The club is encouraging all our friends, members, supporters and players to text MATCH to 50300 and donate four euro to this fabulous cause. JUVENILE

Under-6: Our youngest hurlers enjoyed a great day out in Cloughjordan on Saturday. Thanks to hosts, Kilruane MacDonagh's. Please check Nenagh Éire Óg's Facebook page for a heart-warming video of both teams marching proudly around the field behind flags and an accordion band. Well done to all involved. Training as usual this week.

Under-8: Toomevara visited in numbers on Saturday for a fun blitz which was much enjoyed by players and families. Well done to all involved. A photo album for both teams is available on the club Facebook page with thanks to Enda O' Sullivan.

Under-10: It was a busy morning in MacDonagh Park with the under-10s also hosting a wonderful Borris-Ileigh team. A great time was had by all. Training as usual this week for the boys.

Under-13: Hard luck to our under-13 Plate team who lost out by a puck of a ball to Toomevara in their North Plate Final in Puckane on Friday evening – score 1-10 to 0-10. The boys fought hard from the throw-in, but it wasn't to be their night. No fear of these boys though as they will be back again with style. Thanks to Kildangan GAA for the use of their field as lights were needed and many thanks to Bernie and the staff of Supermac's Nenagh for restoring their spirits so well after the match!

Under-16: Nenagh Éire Óg are through to the under-16A county final against Moycarkey-Borris in Annacarty on Saturday at 2pm. A superb second-half display saw the lads come from behind at half-time to beat South champions Moyle Rovers by ten points – final score 0-23 to 0-13. For a full match report please see nenagheireog.com. Please travel to support these super young men. If you are travelling and have a spare seat in your car then fill it!

Winter training for juveniles will be starting up soon. October 13th sees the start of winter running from 7.30pm to 8.30pm for all boys born 2006-1999. Strength and conditioning times will be advertised soon here.

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

There will be a committee meeting on Thursday, October 8th for all handball club members and anybody interested in handball in Nenagh.

CAMOGIE

Under-10: We finished our year on Saturday with a wonderfully-organised blitz held in Ballina. We wish to thank the parents, guardians, mentors and players for all their hard work this year and we can’t wait to see them all again in 2016.

Under-14: We were defeated on Sunday by Éire Óg Annacarty in the Winter League, however, we have still qualified for the semi-final which is expected to take place this weekend. Management will be in contact with the details of this fixture once they are made available.

Junior A: We produced a superb second half performance on Sunday last away to Holycross to win by two points. Trailing by four at half-time the girls really upped their performance and deserved the win. This result means we are in a play-off alongside Cashel Camogie Club and Holycross. The details of this play-off will be made available during the week.

Best Wishes: Best of luck to the boys under-16 side who play Moycarkey-Borris on Saturday in the county final.

Flag Weekend: We will be holding our flag weekend over the weekend of October 3rd-4th. Please contact Denise Morris if you are will to donate an hour of your time to help out.
