SENIOR

Hard Luck: Commiserations to Shane Hennessy and the Tipperary minor hurling team which lost Sunday’s Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship final against Galway at Croke Park, Dublin.

Senior: Liam Heffernan’s Blues will return to championship action in the last sixteen of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship on Friday, September 11th – Éire Óg will face Roscrea in Moneygall at 6pm. The entire senior panel have been working hard in preparation for this game. Your support would be appreciated for this contest.

The full draw for the last sixteen in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship is: Nenagh Éire Óg v Roscrea, Thurles Sarsfields v Mullinahone, Killenaule v Portroe, Kilruane MacDonagh’s v JK Bracken’s, Kildangan v Upperchurch-Drombane, Éire Óg Annacarty v Lorrha-Dorrha, Drom & Inch (bye) and Clonoulty-Rossmore (bye). Fixture details to be confirmed in due course. The remaining five games in the forthcoming round of the senior hurling championship will take place on Sunday, September 13th.

Under-21A: The under-21A hurling team will face Roscrea in the opening round of this year’s championship. The fixtures schedule for that competition have not been released as of yet. This year the under-21A hurling team will be managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris and Michael McNamara. The 2015 Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipperary Under-21A Hurling Championship will be run on a knock-out-loser’s-group system. Éire Óg have been drawn against Roscrea in the opening round. Kilruane MacDonagh’s will face Ballina in a preliminary round game while the remaining first round games will see Kildangan face the winner of the Kilruane versus Ballina game and Toomevara take on Newport Gaels.

JUVENILE

Under-6 and under-8 training continues as normal with an under-8 match being arranged for Saturday. More form mentors during the week.

Well done to our under-10 hurlers who fought a great battle against Kilcotton of Laois on Saturday. Training as usual on Tuesday and Wednesday with a match away to

Newtown-Shandrum on Saturday, September 12th – boys to meet at the clubhouse at 9am. Please text asap if not available. Congratulations to Cian Connolly who presented the match day sliotar to the referee before the minor All-Ireland hurling final on Sunday last.

Our under-13 hurlers had a very competitive challenge with Newport Gaels in Newport on Wednesday last. We play Kildangan in the first round on Saturday next at 5pm in Puckane. Texts will go out with training times during the week.

Congratulations to the under-16 hurlers and management team on reaching the north final where they will face Roscrea opposition. The lads had an eight-point win over Toomevara in Nenagh on Saturday to finish on a scoreline of 0-20 to 0-12. Please check club website and Facebook page for all up to date fixtures and be there to support these great young men.

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

Best of luck to Eamonn Spillane as he takes on his doubles partner Martin Kelly of Lahorna in a Munster final due to be played this week.


CAMOGIE

Junior A: Our junior team lost out to Toomevara in a highly-entertaining match played last Saturday in Nenagh on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-10. For a match report and a number of action shots please visit our website www.nenagheireog.com. We now play Holycross in our next game in two weeks’ time and must win to have any hopes of progressing to the next stage of the championship.

Minor: We face Cahir in Nenagh this Saturday in the second round of the minor championship. Please see our website for details of this fixture as they have not been finalised at the time of going to press.

Under-12: Our match against Boherlahan-Dualla was postponed and went ahead on Monday evening. Please see our social media for the result of this fixture. We play Drom & Inch on Wednesday in The Ragg at 7pm in our final group game and the semi-final of this league is fixed for the weekend.

Under-14: We were defeated by Kilruane MacDonagh’s in the first round of the Winter League on Saturday last. Please see our website for the details of future fixtures.
