JUVENILE

Under-6 & 8 training continues at the usual times. Keep up the good work.

Under-10 footballers enjoyed a great challenge match against Monaleen during the week. Thank you to the visitors for making the trip.

Congratulations to our victorious Street League champions! The boys and girls played under county names on the evening with Kilkenny beating Tipp in the A final (we are giving them this one and only this one!).

Clare took the spoils in the B final. Both were presented with cups by juvenile chairman Michael Geaney and Camogie chairperson Denise Morris.

Many thanks to the Geaney family for sponsoring the trophies. The efforts of the under-12 Camogie and hurling teams mentors made all of this possible so a big thank you to you all. It was a hugely enjoyable month for the families and friends of all involved.

Our under-14 footballers interest in the championship ended on Friday last with a defeat to Inane Rovers in the north semi-final. The lads put in a gallant performance, however, and can be proud of themselves.

Attention now turns to the hurling championship which starts on Wednesday, June 3rd away to Borrisokane.

Hard luck to Rory O'Donovan, Seán Phelan, Barry Coffey, Cian Griffin, Gavin Dooley, Liam Heffernan and Brendan Long who were all part of the Nenagh CBS team defeated by Thurles CBS in the Rice Cup final on Wednesday last.

Well done to our under-16 players and mentors who won the Shield at the Holycross seven-a-side tournament today. They beat Silvermines 6-8 to 1-6 in the final. Congratulations lads!

The juvenile club will be holding a bag-packing fundraiser on Saturday, May 30th. If you can give an hour please call Gerry on 087 207 7782.
