NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

Hard luck to Michael McNamara who put in a great performance, but lost out in his junior B county final last weekend. Well done and best of luck to Eoin Meagher who has reached the Under-21 Singles county final.

Nenagh have representatives in both county junior B semi-finals this week. Shane Spillane and Eoin Meagher will take on Ballyporeen in the Horse and Jockey while Mickey McNamara and Brian Darcy will face Newport in Kilcolman. Both matches take place on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

JUVENILE

Under-13: Our under-13 North Tipperary Plate winners were presented with their medals on Saturday by senior team captain Noel Maloney. Thanks to Noel, the parents and family members, team mentors and all who made it a great night for the lads. A special mention to club sponsor Joe Mulqueen and Andy's for the fabulous food!

CAMOGIE

Minor: Hard luck to our minor team who were defeated by Cahir in the county semi-final on Saturday last in Borrisoleigh by 3-16 to 0-8. The scoreline does not do our girls justice as they battled to the bitter end with Cahir only managing to pull away in the final fifteen minutes. While we are naturally disappointed with the result we are extremely proud of this bunch of players as they have become the first panel to represent us in the A grade at minor level. This is the first year that all our underage teams have competed in the A grade and reflects another important milestone in our history. It has been a long year for this bunch of players as they all played junior A and/or under-16 for the club and have been training since last February. We want to thank their mentors for their dedication and diligent work as well as the players themselves who worked extremely hard and yet always arrived to training with a smile on their faces. This match concluded our year’s activities on the field of play and thank you to everyone associated with our camogie club for everything throughout 2014.

New Kitchen: We are delighted to announce that the Camogie section has paid for and installed a new kitchen in the clubhouse. We particularly want to thank Denise Morris and Marie O’Brien for cleaning, preparing and painting the kitchen and to Paul Henry for all his expertise in this area. We hope that this upgraded facility will be used and enjoyed regularly by all our members for many years to come.

Volunteers: As we are making our preparations for 2015 we invite anyone who may be interested in getting involved in our club to make contact with us via our email address eireognenagh@gmail.com<mailto:eireognenagh@gmail.com>. If you are interested in coaching, managing or preparing a team in any way you are more than welcome to get involved. We also understand that not everyone is interested in coaching a team and as such if you would like to get involved in the administrative side of the club we would more than appreciate your help. Also we are looking for people to get involved in our monthly club newsletter. If you would like to write articles, take photographs or help out in any other way please do not hesitate to make contact with us.
