VOLUNTEER APPEAL

In 2014 Nenagh Éire Óg catered for over 400 active members (170 juvenile, 225 adult) and in 2015 we hope to grow that number. Crucially, however, we are not simply interested in developing our playing population. We are also interested in attracting volunteers who are interested in becoming coaches with the club and administrators of the club.

Here at Éire Óg we appreciate that not everyone can train a team, that not everyone is interested in coaching and that not everyone has time to attend committee meetings. That said there are plenty of very practical ways in which you can help your club work hard for the betterment of the local community, our children and our cultural heritage.

We therefore encourage anyone in the community who supports the club and who is prepared to give of their time on a voluntary basis to get involved so that fresh faces can bring fresh ideas forward. If you take that brave first step over the threshold, we guarantee that you will not regret it. So, if you are interested in lending a hand drop us a line – contact us: http://www.nenagheireog.com/index.php/contact/

JUVENILE

Under-6 & Under-8: The boys had a wonderful time at their end-of-year party on Saturday morning. Thanks to all the parents, senior and junior hurlers and all who contributed towards making it fun for the lads. The club would like to thank the mentors Tommy Mulcahy, Willie O’Brien, Ronan Walshe, Michael O’Meara, Kevin Connolly and Donach O’Donnell for their hard work this year.

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

Best of luck to Mickey McNamara, Shane Spillane, Eamonn Spillane and Eoin Meagher who will represent the club in the Munster Club Junior B Team of Four semi-final this weekend. The winners of both semi-finals will contest the Munster Final on the same day. Please check Nenagh Eire Óg Facebook and Twitter for all match fixtures. Juvenile training continues as normal this week. Please keep up the great attendance.

CAMOGIE

Under-12: The under-12 team had a great win over an excellent Portroe side in the league final by 5-0 to 1-1. Both teams were excellent and all players displayed the wonderful skills of Camogie in a determined and committed manner that did both clubs proud. We want to thank all the players, their parents and guardians as well as their superb and diligent mentors Mike Hallinan, Lorraine McLoone and Mike Ryan for all their selfless hard work.

Under-13: The under-13 semi-final was postponed and will be re-fixed for a later date.

Minor: Our minor team were well beaten by Drom & Inch in the minor championship. We are awaiting on other results to see if we progress to the semi-final stages.

AGM: The AGM will be held on Monday, December 1st at 7pm in the hurling complex. All members are invited to attend and any motions must be submitted to Denise Morris ASAP.
