That result propelled the Blues into the last eight of the competition – in the quarter-finals Nenagh Éire Óg were drawn to face defending champions Kildangan. The remaining quarter-finals will see Kilruane MacDonagh’s face Portroe or Ballina, Toomevara take on Borris-Ileigh and Burgess battle it out with Moneygall. These clashes are now not expected to take place until the weekend of July 6th at the earliest.

Junior B: Nenagh Éire Óg’s North Tipperary Junior B Hurling League semi-final against Lorrha-Dorrha on Friday night ended in controversy.

Although the Blues felt that our junior B team had won the game referee Martin O’Shea declared Lorrha-Dorrha one-point winners of the contest. A full report on this game is available on the club website:

The club would like to wish Lorrha-Dorrha all the very best of luck in the league final. The club would also like to thank the junior B panel of players for an excellent campaign and for the manner in which they represented themselves and the club. The team, led by manager Conor Ryan, will now focus their attention on the up-coming championship which is expected to start on the week-ending June 22nd.

JUVENILE

Under-6 & Under-8: Our under-8 hurlers travelled to Dr Morris Park in Thurles last weekend to take part in a blitz. Thanks to our hosts. A great day was had by all in a well organised event.

Under-12: Both groups of under-12 hurlers played away to Toome last Wednesday. Group D put up a good fight, but Toome ran out winners. Group A had a very competitive match with Éire Óg winning on a scoreline of

4-8 to 2-6. This week the group A hurlers travel to Puckane to play Kildangan while the group D hurlers are away to Newport. Check nenagheireog.com for fixture details.

Under-14: Our under-14 hurlers travelled to Thurles to play Dúrlas Óg in a challenge on Saturday last. The game ended all square. We welcome Moycarkey-Borris to MacDonagh Park for a challenge game this week.

Training continues on Monday and Saturday in preparation for our first championship match on June 25th.

Primary: On Thursday, May 5th St. Joseph's CBS Primary School took on Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan in the inaugural Nenagh Éire Óg Town Primary Schools tournament at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh. In the under -11 encounter the CBS ran out winners and they followed up this feat by capturing the

under-13 title also. This game was a thriller and it took an extra-time goal by Diogo Marques to separate the sides. Well done to both schools, all the boys, their teachers and coaches and many thanks for a wonderful morning's hurling.
