Congratulations: Well done to Michael Heffernan who was selected to start for the Tipperary senior hurling team against Galway in the Allianz National Hurling League on Sunday. Congrats also go to Paddy Murphy who was introduced as a second half substitute. A huge congratulations also goes to Pearse Morris who featured on the Cork Institute of Technology who won the All-Ireland intermediate final last week – CIT beat DIT 1-20 to 0-22 after extra-time in the final.

Management Teams Finalised: The management teams for the Nenagh Éire Óg adult, juvenile and Camogie club teams have now been finalised. Please click for further details: http://www.nenagheireog.com/index.php/adult-juvenile-and-camogie-management-teams-finalised/

JUVENILE

Parade: Thanks to all the boys who marched with us in the St Patrick's Day parade. You were so well behaved and a credit to your families.

Under-6 & Under-8: Training continues outdoors on Saturday mornings at 10am.

Under-10: Under-10 training is on Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Under-12: Our Group D footballers had a great run out in the second round of the football league last Saturday, but lost out to a strong Ballina side. The boys are enjoying their football and the Go Games format is providing all boys with match practice. Special mention to Jaydon McGee who was outstanding in goal.

Under-14: The under-14 hurlers will travel to Limerick on Wednesday night to play Na Piarsaigh under lights at 7pm. Travel arrangements will be sent by text.

Under-16: Training continues on Wednesday nights at 8pm at Nenagh College facilities. Full attendance required.

Thanks: Our thanks to David Needham, the Games Development Officer for North Tipperary GAA, who recently concluded successful coaching sessions with our juvenile mentors.

HANDBALL

Congratulations to Sinéad Meagher who is now through to the Girls Under-15 Singles All-Ireland Final having defeated Roscommon opposition last weekend. Well done Sinéad.
Hard luck to Eamonn Spillane and Gerry Foley (Ballinahinch) who were beaten by Gus Heraty and Joe Neary of Mayo in the Diamond Master B All-Ireland Semi-final in Kilcolman at the weekend.

CAMOGIE

Under-12: Our under-12 team are due to play a blitz this Saturday. Contact management for further details.

Féile na nGael: Our under-14 team defeated Éire Óg Annacarty to qualify for the semi-finals of the Féile na nGael competition. Well done ladies.

Under-14: We play Ballina in Ballina in the opening round of the under-14 championship on April 1st. All players should make a special effort to attend training between now and then.

Junior A: Our junior team crossed another milestone in our history on Sunday morning last when we played Burgess-Duharra in our first-ever league game at this level. Inspired by a Danni Harrington goal the team played outstanding hurling to defeat our neighbours by one point. This is a fantastic result and shows that all the hard work in training is paying off. It was especially pleasing to see Michelle O’Dwyer line out a mere eight weeks after giving birth to her second child. We are due to play Lorrha-Dorrha next on April 6th.

Tipperary: Congratulations to the Tipperary under-18 team which defeated Limerick in the Munster semi-final on a scoreline of 4-10 to 2-8. Both Alanna Morris and Rachel Maher featured in this game and we wish them all the very best in the Munster final. They are due to play Galway this weekend. Keep up the great work ladies. Best of luck also to the Tipperary under-16 team and the Nenagh players on the panel which faces Cork next weekend in the Munster final.

Fundraisers: On April 26th we are having a second hand clothes collection to raise funds. All old clothes will be gratefully received. Our annual Easter walk will take place on May 5th. Money raised from both events will go directly to the camogie club.

Volunteers: We are always looking for new people to get involved in the club and if you would like to contribute to the growth of camogie in terms of administration, coaching, playing or in any other way please email eireognenagh@gmail.com

CLUB HISTORY

As most of you are aware the club, under the expert guidance of PJ Maxwell, Nancy Murphy and Donal A Murphy, are putting the finishing touches to our club history book. This promises to be a comprehensive collection of the history of Gaelic games in our parish.

While the club have made every effort to collect photographs of teams from the present to the distant past and other pictures which would be of interest we appeal to people to get in touch if you have a photograph of interest in your possession.

Please do not assume that we already possess your photograph or that it is of no interest.

Every Éire Óg photo, whether it is of a team, presentation or action shot is of massive importance to us and we would be delighted to have it. We are also anxious to get photos of school teams from any of the schools in the community.

If you have a photograph please get in touch with us at eireognenagh@gmail.com

We promise to return the photo as soon as we have it scanned.
