Well Done: Congratulations to the senior hurlers who got their competitive year off to a positive start at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Sunday when beating Burgess 4-14 to 2-11 in the opening round of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Tipperary Senior Challenge Cup. Training: Training for the Nenagh Éire Óg junior B hurling team starts this week – all are welcome to attend. The team will be managed this year by Conor Ryan (manager) and selectors Derek Lillis, Joe Hanrahan and David Minogue. For further details please contact Derek Lillis on 086 861 4863. Membership: Membership for 2014 is now due and can be paid to any club officer or online. The cost of membership is priced at €25.

JUVENILE
It’s a Tipperary versus Clare weekend for our juveniles with three teams playing challenges against Clare teams on their way to Thurles for Tipp versus Clare league match on Sunday.
Under-6 & Under-8: Training continues on Saturday mornings at 10am.
Under-8: Under-8 hurlers will play a challenge match against St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield of Clare on Sunday morning at 10am.
Under-10: Our under-10 hurlers will also face a St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield side at 10am on Sunday morning in MacDonagh Park.
Under-12 Football: The under-12 football league kicks off on Saturday. Group 1 are away to Borrisokane while Group 4 are away to Newport. Times will be confirmed by text. Mouth guards are compulsory. No mouth guard, no game. These can be purchased in any sports shop so be prepared.
Under-14: With the recent bad weather the players have had a number of alley sessions over the past few weeks. Our training slots for 2014 will be 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Mondays and 11am to 12.15pm on Saturdays. Our first outdoor session will take place on Saturday next. We welcome Inagh-Kilnamona of Clare to MacDonagh Park for a challenge game on Sunday morning. Time will be confirmed by text.
Under-16: Training has recommenced for our under-16 panel. Full attendance is required. You will be notified of training times by text.
Membership: Membership is now overdue so please contact registrar Ger McCarthy (087 653 9229) or your respective team management. For insurance purposes you must be registered to play games.
For Sale: The club has helmets for sale at the subsidised price of €35. Contact Shane Connolly (087 637 3830). We also have Nenagh Éire Óg beanie hats (one size fits all) on sale for €5. Call Shane or pick up your hat at training or at the matches this weekend.
St Patrick’s Day Parade: The juveniles will be marching in the St Patrick’s Day Parade this year. It’s a great tradition for the club and the boys have a great day – more information available at training.
HANDBALL
Congratulations to Sinéad Meagher who won the under-15 Girls Singles Munster Final at the weekend in Kerry. It’s another great achievement for Sinéad and the club and she will continue on in the All-Ireland series over the coming weeks. Hard luck to under-13 singles Munster finalist Katie Morris who put up a super performance, but came up just short in Kerry at the weekend. Katie is one of our up-and-coming young stars and has a bright future ahead of her in the sport.
CAMOGIE
Féile na nGael: Our Féile na nGael team opened up their campaign with a good win over Kilruane MacDonagh’s on a scoreline of 3-5 to 0-2.
Training: Under-8s March 6th (5.30-6.30pm); Under-10s Monday, March 3rd & Wednesday, March 5th (5-6pm); Under-12s Monday & Wednesday (5-6pm); Under-14s Tuesday & Friday (5.45-6.45pm); Under-16, Under-18 and Junior teams will be notified by text message as to when their training is on.
Registration: Could the few remaining players who haven’t paid please pay your registration as soon as possible so that you are covered by insurance in training and games.
Volunteers: We are always looking for new people to get involved in the club and if you would like to contribute to the growth of camogie in terms of administration, coaching, playing or in any other way please email eireognenagh@gmail.com.
National Club Draw: The Camogie club are selling tickets for the National Club Draw. All money raised will go back into the club and will be used for the upkeep of the club grounds. We ask everyone involved in the Camogie club to please purchase a ticket, they cost €10 and are available from any committee member.

CLUB HISTORY
As most of you are aware the club, under the expert guidance of PJ Maxwell, Nancy Murphy and Donal A Murphy, are putting the finishing touches to our club history book. This promises to be a comprehensive collection of the history of Gaelic games in our parish.
While the club have made every effort to collect photographs of teams from the present to the distant past and other pictures which would be of interest we appeal to people to get in touch if you have a photograph of interest in your possession.
Please do not assume that we already possess your photograph or that it is of no interest.
Every Éire Óg photo, whether it is of a team, presentation or action shot is of massive importance to us and we would be delighted to have it. We are also anxious to get photos of school teams from any of the schools in the community.
