SENIOR
Under-21A Hurling: After defeating Kildangan in the first round of the championship our under-21 team play Roscrea in the quarter-finals this weekend – Sunday, November 10th Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipperary Under-21A Hurling Quarter-Final – Nenagh Éire Óg v Roscrea in Moneygall at 2pm (extra-time will be played if required). Two under-21 quarter-finals have already taken place with Kildangan beating Toomevara 2-20 to 2-18 (aet) and defending champions Kilruane MacDonagh’s seeing off Borris-Ileigh (1-13 to 0-13). The remaining quarter-final between Burgess and Lorrha will be played on Saturday.
Munster Minor Tournament: On Saturday afternoon last our minor team traveled to Dr Morris Park, Thurles for the inaugural Munster Minor hurling championship. In the first game we defeated De La Salle (Waterford) on a score line of 1-12 to 1-6. In the semi-finals we were pitted against Kerry outfit Causeway. We won 2-10 to 1-3 to set up a final meeting with Doon (Limerick). After a slow start the lads got themselves back into the contest and trailed by two at the break. The lads showed great heart and determination, but unfortunately ended up on the wrong side of a two-point defeat (0-9 to 0-7). Well done to the panel and management following a great year. CAMOGIE
Under-14: Our under-14 team beat Silvermines in the league semi-final on Sunday. The girls are playing at 1pm in The Ragg against Newport in the final next Sunday. Best of luck ladies!
Minor: Our minor B team qualified for the county final on Sunday last in The Ragg when they defeated Moneygall on a scoreline of 4-12 to 0-4. The goals came courtesy of Hazel Coffey, Zoey Gratton, Elaine Slattery and Julie Moylan. We are meeting Cashel Camogie Club in the final. Details of this fixture have yet to be confirmed.
Under-12: The under-12 team are playing Clonoulty in the league semi-final this Saturday at The Ragg. Time TBC.
Presentation Night: All our successful teams from this year will be presented with their medals on Saturday, November 30th in The Complex. We look forward to seeing all our mentors, players and their parents there on the night.
JUVENILE
Coaches & Mentors: Nenagh Éire Óg is calling on those interested in becoming coaches and/or mentors to young players to make contact with the juvenile committee. Due to the increase in young players coming to MacDonagh Park the juvenile committee is inviting anyone interested in becoming a coach or mentor at juvenile level in 2014 to contact the secretary Anne Kennedy on 087 133 6024 – you can also email Anne on akennedy@revenue.ie. The Éire Óg club would especially welcome expressions of interest from current or past adult players before finalising the management teams for the individual groups prior to the 2014 season. Please try to make contact with Anne before Friday, November 15th.
