JUVENILE

Parish League: The finals of the under-12 parish league were played in MacDonagh Park on Monday last. Once again the league was an excellent success with Sarsfields overcoming Red Rovers in the A final and Éire Óg getting the better of St Mary’s in the plate final. After the games Michael & Seán Geaney presented the cups to the Sarsfields joint-captains, Criona Cantwell & Conor Malone, and the Éire Óg joint-captains, Siobhan Collins & Eoghan Tinkler. Many thanks to the Geaney family who donated both cups in memory of their late father, Michael.

Under-6 & Under-8: Under-6 & under-8 training continues on Wednesdays at 5.15pm and Saturdays at 10am. New members always welcome.

Under-10 & Community Games: Congratulations to our Community Games team who are now through to a North/Mid final following their victory over a gallant Kilruane MacDonagh’s team last Friday. It was another fine team performance from these talented young hurlers who will now face the winners of Roscrea v Dúrlas Óg/Thurles Gaels.

Under-12: The first round of the under-12 hurling league is scheduled for Friday, June 7th. Full attendance is expected at training with challenge matches planned for this Wednesday and Saturday.

Under-14 Football: Our under-14 footballers progressed to the North final following a 2-2 to 1-4 victory over Kilruane. It was a hard-earned victory with the score level at half-time (1-2 each). Tenacious defending by the Nenagh backs such as Seán McTiernan and Fiachra Starr and the hard work of forwards Scott O’Brien and Daniel O’Donovan laid the foundation for victory. Nenagh will play Borrisokane in the final which is fixed for 7.30pm on Monday, May 27th in Kilcolman.

Under-14 Hurling: The championship starts on June 12th against Borrisokane in Borrisokane.

Best Wishes: Best wishes to Conor Bonnar, Jake Morris, Mark O’Farrell, Peter Folan and the North Tipperary under-14 team in the Peadar Cummins Tournament which is fixed for Saturday, May 25th in Borrisoleigh.

Under-16: Preparations are now under way for the under-16 hurling championship. Full attendance is required for all training sessions.
