In the quarter-finals Éire Óg have been drawn against Toomevara – that game has been provisionally fixed for Sunday, May 26th at 6.30pm in Dolla. Meanwhile Templederry Kenyons will take on Kildangan, Silvermines will face Portroe and Roscrea will clash with Borris-Ileigh in the last eight.

Tipp Draw: The first draw for the 2013-14 season will take place on May 17th. The club would like to thank all promoters and members for their continued support and would encourage promoters to try and add new members if possible. The Tipp draw is one of the main sources of revenue for the club each year and the club is very grateful to everyone who contributes in any way.

JUVENILE

Under-10 & Community Games: The Community Games team had a good win away to JK Bracken’s in Templemore on Wednesday last with every boy playing his part in a very enjoyable match. It was their first outing in the competition for these young players and the win puts them through to the North semi-final against Kilruane on Friday, May 17th – venue to be confirmed.

Under-12: Hard luck to the group four footballers who were narrowly defeated by Inane Rovers in a thrilling North final last Monday. The lads kept going to the very end and were unfortunately denied by the goal post on a number of occasions. Team: Conor Malone (captain), Jason Teefy, Dylan Murphy, Cameron Spillane, Jamie Cottrell, Josh Keller, Adam Ryan, Paul White Ryan, Conor White, Dylan Noonan-Kelly and Cian Galvin. The group one footballers were also unlucky to lose out to Borrisokane in the group one semi-finals. Best wishes to Ben West who suffered a shoulder injury in the game. Attention now turns to the hurling with group games due to commence in the next couple of weeks. Full attendance expected at training.

Under-14: Our under-14 footballers play Kilruane MacDonagh’s in a North semi-final on Wednesday, May 15th at 7pm in Cloughjordan. The boys have been working hard under the management team of David Minogue, Donie O’Brien and Mike Hallinan. We wish them all the very best of luck on Wednesday.

CAMOGIE

Under-14: Our under-14 team qualified for the county A final for the second year running after a great 3-8 to 1-1 victory over Newport-Ballinahinch. The girls will be working hard over the next few weeks under the expert guidance of Noel Coffey, Maeve Maloney and Martin Ryan in a bid to retain the title the Blues won for the very first time last year.

Junior B: Our Junior B team created their own piece of history on Sunday last winning the league title in emphatic fashion against near neighbours and great rivals Portroe. This is the very first time in our history that we have won an adult league decider and great credit must good to the players themselves and their diligent and hard-working management team of Paul Henry, Shane Connelly and Denise ‘Red Wellies’ Morris. Goals came from Danielle Harrington (3), Louise Hickey, Holly O’Brien (2), Aileen Duggan and Michelle Collins while at the other end captain fantastic Alice Darcy held the full-back line together ably assisted by Mary Dillon, Rachel Maher and Zoey Gratton. Rookie goalkeeper Cliona Curran had an outstanding game between the sticks. Ciara McGrath led by example at midfield assisted by Alanna Morris. We look forward with confidence to the Munster league which will be starting in early June.

Bereavement: We wish to extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Ms Maura Plouffe who passed away last week. Maura was an extremely talented Camogie player in her youth and played for the old Nenagh Camogie Club as well as representing both Tipperary and Dublin at senior championship level.

Féile na nGael: On May 31st in the Hibernian Inn the club are hosting a ‘Come Dine With Me’ fundraiser to help secure funds for our Féile na nGael team who have qualified for the All-Ireland finals for the very first time. Celebrity chef for the event is former Munster and Irish rugby player Trevor Hogan and tickets are priced at €32 for two or €20 for one – tickets are available from any committee member. The team are also seeking sponsorship from businesses and private individuals. If you are interested in supporting the team please contact any committee member.
