Presentation night: A great night was had on Saturday night last by players, officials, managers, coaches, parents and supporters. The club recognized the 2012 successes of our Minor Hurlers (North & County champions) and our Junior A Hurlers (North League and Championship winners).  Michael Cleary and Mick Hynes presented the medals to the winning teams on the night and players also received a special photographic memory of their year. A special thanks to the organising committee and the Abbey Court hotel for making the whole occasion such a success.

Tournament: Our Senior hurlers play Kilmacud Crokes on Saturday next 16th March  in Nenagh at 3pm. This is a special tournament game where the two clubs will play for the John Tucker  memorial trophy. All Nenagh supporters should make a special effort to attend this game.

Congratulations: Well done to Donnacha Heffernan who played for NUIG in the Fresher A championship final last Wednesday. Unfortunately he missed out on a medal after NUIG lost by 2 points to UCC.

Fantasy Cheltenham: Thanks to everyone who supported our Fantasy Cheltenham fundraising event. Hopefully some of the big prize money on offer comes back to the club !

County Challenge Cup: Our senior hurlers have been drawn against Lorrha in the next round of the county challenge cup. This game has been fixed for Monday 18th March at 4pm in Nenagh.

Membership: Club membership for 2013 is now overdue and should be paid to any club officer or online at www.nenagheireog.com. All players, managers and team mentors must be fully paid up club members.

St Patricks day parade: Juveniles walking with Nenagh Eire Og in the St Patrick’s Day parade are asked to meet in the C.B.S. grounds on Summerhill at 1.30pm. Children are to be collected at the Railway Station car park immediately after the parade.

U14: The opening round of Feile Peil is scheduled for St Patrick’s weekend against Borrisokane.  Reminder: Mouth guards are compulsory for all football games and training sessions for under 18 teams and squads since January 1st. U10 Community Games Training is brought forward from Sunday to Friday at 5.15 to 6.30pm for this week due to clash with the parade.

Handball Notes: Congratulations to coach Eamon Spillane and Nenagh Handball Club on their achievements at the Munster Finals in Dungarvan recently.  Sinead Meagher U14 singles and Meave Coffey & Katie O’ Flaherty (Youghalarra) U15 doubles were defeated in the semi-finals by Clare opponents.  Eimear Meagher with Eleanor Percy (Lahorna) beat Cork opposition to win their final in the U13 Doubles. Katie Morris and Laura Shinnors (Lahorna) also beat Cork to take their Munster Final win in the U12 Doubles. Well done to all the players.

Camogie Club News:
Congratulations to Grace O Brien, Rachel Maher and Saoirse Gleeson who all featured for Tipperary in the Munster Under Sixteen semi final last weekend against Limerick. The team had a comprehensive win and we wish them all the best in the upcoming final.

Well done to Ciara McGrath who played for the Tipperary intermediates against Kilkenny at the weekend. Good luck to the Tipperary minors in their upcoming game on Monday.

Congratulations to Catriona O Connor who played for DIT in their victory in the All Ireland Colleges intermediate league final against UCC. Hard luck to Ciara McGrath who was part of the UL panel who lost the Ashbourne Cup final recently. Unfortunately Ciara sustained an injury a few days before the final and could not play.

Well done to St Marys who won the Munster senior league final on Friday last against St Flannans, Ennis. The club want to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers in the school who so generously volunteer their time to coach the girls, organise matches and promote camogie. Schools camogie is vital for the development of our players and we can’t thank the teachers in all the schools enough for their all hard work.

Under 14 played Burgess in the Feile last Friday and had a good win.

The Junior team face Cashel on Sunday morning in Nenagh in the league. Training continues on Friday evening and players will be notified by text.

Our Easter Walk is on 7 April at 12pm. This is a vital fundraiser for the club and all players are asked to take part.

Registration needs to be in ASAP as players cannot play unless they’re registered.

Congratulations to Shane Brophy and the Nenagh Guardian on winning the Mick Dunne award recently for the best local paper for supporting and reporting on camogie.
