SCOR NA Bpaisti: A great night of entertainment took place in the Eire Óg Complex last Friday Night 18th January 2013 when 30 Children took to the Stage to participate in our Parish Final for Scor na Bpaistí. The judges on the night were very impressed with the talent that appeared before them. The success of the Night is down to the parents who helped out in any way and who encouraged the children to come forward and participate. Thanks are due to a number of people who gave up their time to guide the children in singing, dancing, music, drama and Question Time. A big Thank you to Shane Connolly and Nikki McCloone who looked after the figure dancers and Olive Kilgannon who took on the 'Sean Nos' Dancing (this is a new competition this year). This year we received great help from three young girls who took on the responsibility of Ballad Groups, Instrumental Group and Novelty Act. A big Thank you to Máire Long, Niamh Ryan and Alicia Hallinan. We look forward to even a greater number of participants next year and of course hope to get more help along the way. Our Area Final takes place next Friday Night in Templederry.

Camogie News:

  • A reminder that this Friday 25th January  the Church of Ireland are hosting a concert from which all profits will be generously donated to our camogie club. It takes place in the church starting at 7.30pm and tickets cost five euro for children, ten euro for adults and twenty euro for families. The CBS Concert Band are playing on the night along with a very special group of musicians from our club. Contact any committee member for tickets.
  • Our under fourteens have resumed training on Saturday mornings in the hurling field while our under twelves and under thirteens are training Mondays and Thursdays from 5.15pm to 6.30pm. New players are always more than welcome.
  • Our registration nights take place on the 21st and 22nd of February from 6pm to 8pm.
  • Hard luck to St Marys who were beaten by a superb St Flannans side in the Munster Junior Final on Saturday last. Nenagh Eire Og had nine players on the starting fifteen which a few short years ago was an unimaginable statistic and shows how far we have come in our short history. The club wish to thank the teachers in St Marys for all their hard work in coaching the teams in the school. Its very generous of the teachers to volunteer their free time and its a gesture thats very much appreciated by everyone in the club.
  • The St Marys senior team are due to play St Flannans in the Munster senior league final. At the time of going to press we don't have the match details. Please check our Facebook page for details of this fixture.
  • The Nenagh Eire Og GAA Club Fundraising Lotto draws which run on a weekly basis play a huge part in the clubs fundraising efforts.  You can now offer your support by playing online and join the growing numbers of players. We currently have online players in Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, USA and Australia. When playing online you will receive the Lotto results and a weekly club news updates by email after each draw has taken place. The camogie club benefits enormously from this and we ask all club members to join at www.nenagheireog.com
