Co SHL: Nenagh Eire Og started off their 2012 league campaign with a 9 point victory over Clonoulty Rossmore played last Saturday afternoon in Nenagh. Final acore was Eire Og 1.22 Clonoulty 3.07. See website for report.

Membership: Membership is now overdue and can be paid to any committee member. All players have to be members of the club.

Club Development Draw: The Nenagh Eire Og Adult, Juvenile and Camogie committees have come together this year to launch a club development draw. Receipts from this draw will go to support games development, improve coaching standards and help finance the ongoing development of club facilities, in particular the upgrading of the main pitch. The star prize on offer is €5,000 with numerous other valuable cash prizes. Tickets costing €25 each are on sale now.

Reunion: The club will honour and celebrate its successful minor teams (1977,78), u21 teams (1979,80, 81, 82) and Junior A team (1983) who won 7 county final in a row at a function in Andy’s at 9pm on Friday 30th March. These celebrations will coincide with the drawing of the grand prize for our club development draw and there will be a buffet and music on the night. This promises to be a special social occasion for the club and all are welcome to attend.

Coaching course: Level 1 Coaching Course will take place over the following dates in Nenagh; March 26 & 28 and April 2 and 4. Contact Phil Hennessy at 087 1275613 asap to book your place if interested.
 
Helmets: The juvenile club now have stock of medium size helmets in club colours which are great value at €35 per helmet. These helmets are generally suitable up to 12 years old.
 
St Patricks Day: The Juvenile club will participate in the parade, groups involved will be U6s, U8s and U10s but all are welcome to parade. Meet at CBS primary school at 1.30, it is essential that parents  collect their children from Railway Station immediately on completion of our part in the parade. In the interests of safety, we request that children do not bring hurleys to the parade.
 
U6 & U8: Training continues on Saturdays at 10am, all new players welcome. We will not train this Saturday due to St Patricks Day parade.
 
U10: Continues on Wednesdays 5.30 to 6.45 and on Sunday mornings.
 
Juvenile Registration: There will be a registration night on Wednesday 21st March from 5.30 to 7.00, we will also have hurleys and helmets for sale at subsidised prices. Membership is €25 per player, €50 for 2 or more; there are also other options for family  membership – see our website for more details (www.nenagheireog.com) A draw will take place at 7pm for those who become members on the night, among the prizes are a signed Tipperary jersey, hurleys and sliotars.
 
Camps: Easter hurling camp will take place on April 10th to 12th for age 6 to 12s, details available shortly. Summercamp will take place week of July 23rd.
 
U16: Our footballers played their first game of the season against Newport in Newport on Sunday last and came away with a good win.
 
Congrats: Well done to U12 player Scott O’Brien who played in exhibition hurling and football games in Thurles last Sunday, Scott was representing his school Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan.
 
Handball: Congratulations to Sinead Meagher who won the 40 x 20 Munster final of U13 girls singles in Limerick last weekend. Sinead overcame her Limerick opponent by 15 0 and 15 7 in the final. This adds to the Munster 60 x 30 U12 singles that Sinead won last year. Well done also to Sinead’s coach Eamon Spillane who is doing great work in the promotion of handball in Nenagh.
 
Camogie

U8s are back training on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30. Please bring both indoor and outdoor gear.
U10’s are back training on Mondays and Thursdays 5:30 to 6:30. Please bring both runners and boots.
U12’s. The U/12s are now back training on a Monday and Thursday Evening. All new members welcome.  Reminder that membership forms have to be returned.  The girls took part in the first of this year’s County Go games blitzes in Toomevara last Saturday. On a Lovely morning all our girls took part in five matches and really enjoyed themselves. It was great to see some many young girls out playing camogie and thanks to Toomevara for organizing the day.
U14s. The U/14s are training on Saturdays outdoors.  Well done to Hazel McAuliffe who is on the Tipperary U/14 Football panel who won again last weekend.  Also, well done to everyone, who attended U/14 Tipperary Camogie training over the last few weeks.
U/16: Training is back on Mondays and Saturdays Texts are being sent out and please let trainers know of your availability as some of the sessions have being poorly attended. Well done to Alana Morris, Rachel Maher and Coleen O’Brien on making the Tipperary U/16 panel.

The junior b and minors will train in the running track on Tuesdays 8:30 to 9:30 and outdoors on Fridays. All interested are asked to contact Enda O’Sullivan at endaos@hotmail.com. The League is starting in a couple of weeks so we ask everyone to attend training. Texts will be sent out about training.

 
Membership is going very well this year but there are still some outstanding. Any child not registered is not insured to play or train for the Club so please pass on any outstanding membership forms to a committee member or trainer as soon as possible.
