Weekly club notes.

SHC: Our senior hurlers opened their championship campaign with a 2.16 to 3.10 win over Kilruane played on Sunday evening last. A first half goal by Eoghan Slattery left us a point behind at half time but a better second half performance,helped by a Tommy Heffernan goal sealed a three point win. See website for full report. The second round takes palce this Sunday in Toomevara when Borris-Ileigh provide the opposition. This game takes palce at 3pm.

JBHL: Our junior B team began this years league as holders and accounted for Ballina on Monday afternoon following a 3.10 to 1.10 victory. The second round game will be against Silvermines. Check fixtures for more details.

MAFC:Our minor footballers play Lorrha in the opening round of the championship this evening (Wed) at 6.45 in Nenagh. The following Wednesday evening the footballers take on Ballina at 6.45 in Ballina.

Camogie News:

U8s are back training on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30. Please bring both indoor and outdoor gear.
 
U10’s are back training on Mondays and Thursdays 5:30 to 6:30.
 
U12’s. The U/12s are now back training on a Monday and Thursday Evening. We played another enjoyable blitz last weekend and thanks to everyone who turned up.
 
U14s. The U/14s are due to start their Championship on Monday 16th versus Toomevara. Details of all matches will be given out at training so it’s important for everyone to attend. 
 
U16: Our first Match is due to be on Thursday 12th V Silvermines. This will be confirmed at training. Best of Luck to all involved
 
The junior b and minors on Tuesdays and Fridays. On Saturday last our Junior team took part in the Denis Keogh Seven A Side Memorial Tournament in Cloughjordan. This was a wonderful days hurling event organised to raise money for Crumlins Childrens Hospital. Unfortunately we exited the competition early but had an enjoyable afternoons hurling. Well done to Judy Mulqueen who was our top scorer and thanks to hosts Kilruane MacDonaghs for the warm reception and lovely food.  Team: Niamh Costello, Alice Darcy, Amy Heffernan, Donna Mitchel, Louise Hickey, Mary Dillon and Judy Mulqueen.  The Tipp Minors had a hard earned draw V Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. The replay could be this weekend and best of luck to all.
 
Membership is going very well this year but there are still some outstanding. As the Championship for most Teams is Starting very soon we make one last call for everyone to pay their membership.
 
We held our sponsored walk last Sunday and thankfully the rain held off. All remaining Cards can be given back at training. Some of the prize winners on the day were Chloe McAuliffe, Katie Manicle and Caoimhe McKenna. Thanks to everyone for their help on the day. We also sold 5 of the winning tickets for the Clubs Development draw recently and thanks to everyone who helped or purchased a ticket.
