Weekly Club Notes August 13th

November 7, 2018

Junior: Our junior hurlers beat Kilruane by 3-13 to 2-6 in their final group match last Sunday evening in Toomevara.  Kilruane scored two early goals but Moneygall regrouped to lead at half time by 1-6 to 2-1 before a strong second half performance secured the win.  This result means we top the group and qualify for the north semi final.

Minor: Clonakenny/Moneygall will play Boherlahan Dualla in the mid championship this Tuesday evening.  Our final group match will be against Upperchurch Drombane and is provisionally fixed for Wednesday week, 22nd August.

Under 16: Clonakenny/Moneygall suffered two narrow defeats in the mid championship last week.  On Monday evening we were beaten by Moyne Templetuohy by 1-11 to 1-8 and then lost to Dúrlas Óg by 3-9 to 2-9 on Thursday last.  The group stage has now concluded and we will now meet Dúrlas Óg again in the mid quarter final.

Under 12: Hard luck to our Under 12 hurlers who were beaten by Lorrha by 1-6 to 1-3 in the Premier 12s Group 3 North Final in Ballinderry on Saturday last.  Well done to the panel on their performance on the day.  We still progress to the county series in Semple Stadium in the coming weeks where we will play the south champions in the quarter final.

Cúl Camp: 87 local children participated in the recent Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp held in St Flannan’s Park.  Many thanks to Len Gaynor and his team of coaches for their great work, expertise and guidance throughout the week.  Thanks also to our own juvenile committee and club members who came along to help out during the week.

Family Fun Day:  The club will host a Family Fun Day on Sunday 2nd September in St Flannan’s Park.  We are inviting all our members, players and their families and all parishioners to come along and enjoy the entertaining activities that will be on show on the day.  Further details will follow in the coming weeks.

Tipperary GAA Draw:  We are four months into the 2012/2013 draw year and many of our subscriptions are now in.  Thanks to all our members who have contributed so far.  Any other members who wish to contribute some or all of their subscription will have the opportunity to do so on the evening of Thursday 23rd August, in the GAA Centre between 8pm and 8.30pm.  Alternatively you can contact any member of the club committee at any time.
