The weekly club lotto will be held in the Club House in Cregg as and from next Monday night, all tickets must be returned by 10 pm sharp. The club wish to thank all the local publicans who gave of there premises to accommodate our draw since it began. This weeks winning lotto numbers were 1, 5,11 & 23. There was no jackpot winner and we five match three; Derek O’Neill Kilcahill, Noreen Kelly Corbally, Delia Canavan Carraghy, Patrick Newell Annaghdown and Lorraine Canavan c/o Niall. Paddy Small Parke won the promoters prize and next weeks jackpot is  6100 in the Clubhouse on Monday night


In a totally one sided game in Cregg on Friday evening our Junior hurlers defeated Tuam in the Junior C Hurling league by 4-14 to 0-2. At half time we lead by Annaghdown 3-8 Tuam 0-1 Team was: P.J Fahy, Thomas Burke (Capt.), Kenny Leonard, Joe Qualter, Eoin Murtagh, Carl Leonard, Ronan Newell, Vivian Silke, Niall O’Keeffe (0-2, 1 free), Martin Duggan (0-4), Pa Murphy (0-1), Christy Burke, Graham Hession (1-1), Mike Donnellan (2-1) & Paul Walsh (0-3). Subs used: Mike Forde, Aidan Joyce (0-1), Reggie Burke, Ciaran O’Conner (1-1) and Bernard O’Brien.

At Pearse Stadium on Sunday we lost by a single point to Oranmore-Maree in the Intermediate Hurling Championship on the score of 3-7 to 1-12, Cathal Gaffney had our first two scores inside the first ten minutes and Con Butler added a third midway through the half with Kevin Howley adding a goal a few minutes later, Butler added two points before the break to bring our first half tally to 1-5 while the winners shot three first half goals and three points. After the break we upped our performance and had a lot of possession but failed to produce the scores but Fergal O’Doherty shot our first point with Con Butler adding four more to leave the score 3-7 to 1-10 going into injury time. Cathal Gaffney shot two late points but time ran out and we were beaten by one point. We had good displays from Michael Forde, Paul Creaven, Shane Collier, Cathal Gaffney, and Con Butler who shot seven points including a penalty that sailed over the bar. Team was: Michael Forde, Ronan Creaven, Paul Creaven, Mike Whelan, Alan Newell, Shane Collier (Capt.), Ronan Leonard, Adrian Murphy, Brian Qualter, Johnny Murphy, Cathal Gaffney (0-4), Con Butler (0-7 frees), Fergal Doherty (0-1), Martin O’Neill , Kevin Howley (1-0 ). Subs used: Niall O’Keeffe and Martin Duggan .

Our Minor hurlers beat Rahoon-Newcastle in the championship.

Ladies Football

Under 16’s play Mountbellew/Moylough this week, while the Under 14’s are out this evening (Wednesday) against Tuam/Cartoon in Cregg at 6.30 p.m. Please contact your managers re. Training schedule for the
forthcoming week.

Our Under 12 travelled to Clonberne on Monday evening last where they were defeated by Kilkerrin/Clonberne and their next outing is to Claregaway next Monday evening 21st May – throw in at 7p.m. Training continues in Corrandulla pitch at 7 p.m.

The Annaghdown Ladies Club are holding a ‘Sponsored Solothon’ to raise funds to buy equipment and run the club, so if sponsorship is requested please give generously.

The Galway Ladies Draw has been deferred until the 19th June 2007 – tickets still available from any club officer
