Nenagh hosted the first u 12 Go Games Blitz in the county on Saturday in McDonagh Park with Burgess Kilruane Toomevara and the home team providing a great occasion where there was plenty of skill and determination on show. It was officially opened by County Chairman Joe Cahill who thanked the clubs for their commitment in adapting to the new format. The teams played six games each and all the girls participated fully which is in the spirit of the new format. The club would like to thank the teams coaches referees and all the parents who provided refreshments.
Nenagh u 16s played their first Championship game against Moneygall on Sunday in McDonagh Park. It was a repeat of last years county final which Nenagh won in extra time and it  proved to be a ferociously contested game with both sides giving their all for their team. The game was full of skill and determination from two young teams.  Moneygall had the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and it looked like Nenagh were going to hold them out but Moneygall were first to score when they registered a point from long range and they soon followed with a goal from a tight angle.   Nenagh responded in great fashion when Nenagh Mid fielder Alanna Morris cleverly fed Shannon Moran who lashing in a great goal from Twenty yards to make the score 1-1 to 1-0 at half time to Moneygall. The second half was a more open game with both sides creating many chances and it was Moneygall who stretched their lead with a well taken goal.. Nenagh never gave up and Rachel Maher and Aileen Duggan dominated the second half added to the fact that Michelle Collins and  Alanna Morris were just about getting on top in Mid Field and both girls scored two points each in the second half . The Nenagh forwards were working very hard to stop the Moneygall defense from making clearances and Aine Long was rewarded for her hard work when she blocked down the Moneygall goalkeeper on the line which resulted in a goal. Grace O Brien put the icing on the cake when she pointed a long distance free to make it 2-5 to 2-3 to Nenagh Eire Og. It was a hard working performance from  a dedicated team but they will need to improve to take on the other strong teams in the group.
