Weekly Notes May 23rd

November 8, 2018

This week’s lotto winning numbers were 4,17,18 & 25 and there was no jackpot winner. We had three match threes: Michael Geoghegan c/o M.G, Linda Madden c/o Teddy Kerin, Pauline & Ciara Duggan c/o M Duggan. Willie Dowd won the promoters prize. Next weeks will be in the Club House on Monday night for a €6,250 jackpot.

We play in the Senior Football Championship on Sunday against Killererin in Tuam at 6.30 we hope for a big parish support.

We played Cappataggle in the second round of the Intermediate Hurling Championship last Saturday and it ended all square 2-7 to 1-10 we got off to a great start when Martin O’Neill goaled and we lead at the break by 1-7 to 0-4 after playing with a strong breeze with our points coming from Adrian Murphy, Con Butler and Kevin Howley scoring two each with Cathal Gaffney adding the other. Adrian Murphy gave us a tonic start to the second half when he scored a brilliant goal but it was our only score of the half as we found it hard to score against the strong breeze, Cappataggle got the levelling point with time almost up, and it was a game that could have gone either way. Our best players were Paul Creaven, Ronan Leonard, Shane Collier, Kevin Howley, Adrian Murphy and Fergal Doherty. Team was: Michael Forde, Ronan Creaven, Paul Creaven, Mike Whelan, Niall O’Keeffe, Shane Collier(Capt.), Ronan Leonard, Fergal Doherty, Brian Qualter, Con Butler, Cathal Gaffney, Johnny Murphy, Kevin Howley, Martin O’Neill Adrian Murphy Subs used: Fergal Coleman, Martin Duggan & Joe Fahy.

Our Minor hurlers drew with Kilconieron 2-10 to 0-16 last week qualifing them for the knockout stages of the championship.

There is U-8 and U-10 football training in Cregg next Sunday morning at 10.30.
