A hat-trick from 16-year-old midfielder Conor ‘Chippy’ McDonald helped Dundalk Youths to an impressive 7-0 win over Saint Kevin’s Boys in the Leinster Youths Cup Third Round in Dublin on Sunday afternoon as they bounced back from last week’s cup disappointment, Stephen Kilcoyne, Daniel Hand, Aidan Sheehy and Michael Gray also getting in on the scoring act.
The young Lilywhites exited the FAI Cup just seven days earlier after falling to an unlucky defeat by Saint Patrick’s Athletic, but they secured victory here by half-time as they led by three goals, with four more added in a 23-minute spell after the break.
